Late tonight, Mazatlán’s closed circles began passing around a new message from Fuerzas Especiales Unión. In the middle of a tense, quiet night where everyone watches the movements on the streets, FEU issued an urgent communiqué drawing a hard line in the port city: no extortion, no attacks on civilians, and no attempts to destabilize the zone. The statement, aimed directly at the Cabrera network and MF, adds another layer to the silent pressure that has been building for weeks.
Below is the communiqué exactly as it was circulated.

URGENT COMMUNIQUE
In Mazatlán, neither the collection of floor fees [extortion/protection money] nor attacks on businesses or innocent people for refusing to pay are permitted, nor will they be permitted. Anyone caught doing such acts will be sanctioned without compassion.
Cabrera sisters and your comadre [close female friend/godmother] MF know damn well you can’t handle the package; we’ve got to drag you out of the sewers where you hide like cowardly RATS. It’s been more than a year since you’ve been trying to win Mazatlán, and the only thing you’ve won is making innocent people suffer because of your stupid mentality in handling things. You’ve never been good for shit, MF—not even your dad wanted you, and now you want to feel like a boss.
You think you’re real tough with your informant page Mazatlán and Mitotes Mazatlán [Gossips Mazatlán], naming people and misinforming the port with nothing but lies.
Your visit to the port is real short; this chair [seat of power] is way too big for you.
And let it be crystal clear: at the hour and day you want, we’ll clash, you running cowards— we’re right here, ready to make pozole [stew, slang for killing and disposing of bodies, often by chopping or dissolving] out of MF.
