Prosecutors in the United States have also initiated pre-trial proceedings against Rafael Caro Quintero, founder of the Guadalajara Cartel. Charges: Organized crime and drug trafficking.
Caro Quintero is accused of organized crime and drug trafficking, as well as the murder of Kiki Camarena—the crime that defined the DEA. Prosecutors have requested the application of rules to protect classified information and sensitive evidence that might be presented during the proceedings.
These include, of course, details regarding the 1985 kidnapping and murder of former DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena—a crime involving Caro Quintero and “Don Neto” (Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo), as well as the Guadalajara Cartel group as a whole.
