The operation reportedly involved six helicopters and 520 soldiers.
“El Jardinero” was said to be staying at a cabin with a security detail of roughly 30 trucks and 60 men. But once the escorts saw the military operation closing in, they scattered in different directions, apparently trying to confuse the advance.
In the end, El Jardinero was found alone near a drainage pipe.
There were no reported shots fired and no collateral damage during the operation. More details are still emerging, but these images offer a closer look at the arrest of El Jardinero.
As I mentioned yesterday, this was just an internal CJNG matter. The proof is in the security team’s actions. They bailed on the principal and never fired a shot. El Jardinero didn’t even have his head of escorts by his side. At the same time, his money guy was arrested.
