According to the legal document filed, the drug lord is in a delicate condition.
Héctor Luis Palma Salazar—known as “El Güero” Palma and identified as one of the historic figures of drug trafficking in Mexico—has obtained a court order mandating that he receive immediate medical attention within the Altiplano federal prison, where he is currently incarcerated.
The ruling was issued by a federal court based in Toluca, following the filing of an *amparo* petition by the former criminal leader’s defense team, in which they alleged purported omissions on the part of the medical staff at Federal Center for Social Reintegration No. 1.
According to the legal petition filed with the judicial authorities, Palma Salazar asserted that he had not been medically evaluated by health personnel since mid-April, despite the fact that his physical condition required urgent examination. The legal document also maintains that he is currently in a delicate state of health.
After reviewing the request, the judge granted an immediate injunction—a measure compelling prison authorities to guarantee immediate medical attention and take all necessary steps to safeguard the inmate’s physical well-being while the merits of the case are being adjudicated.
To date, no public announcement has been made regarding the specific ailment facing the former Sinaloa Cartel member, nor has it been disclosed whether he will be transferred to an external medical facility.
