The US Embassy in Mexico has issued a travel advisory for the municipality of Ocozocoautla in Chiapas due to recent violence. This is the second travel alert issued for Chiapas in 2024, with the first one being for the town of Suchiate. In April, two officers were killed by armed men while on duty, and in March, an attack on the Chiapas Prosecutor’s Office left two officers dead and another injured.
