A group of alleged members of the Sinaloa Cartel appeared in a video in which they claimed that a man nicknamed “El Güero Pulseras” would be responsible for ordering an attack against soldiers that occurred on April 3rd. This individual has been identified as a criminal leader linked to the mentioned criminal group.
In the video shared on social media on Sunday, April 7th, a group of men with long guns, covered faces, and equipment with the initials of the CDS can be seen.
This attack against uniformed individuals was recorded by local media, who reported that as a result of the aggression, two members of the Army and one civilian were killed, as detailed by El Heraldo de Chiapas.
According to the information presented in the audiovisual material, the man mentioned is originally from Sinaloa and takes advantage of this status to claim that he is a representative of the Pacific Cartel and thus “request support from the authorities in Chiapas”. Similarly, El Güero Pulseras seeks to generate empathy with local independent groups.
It should be noted that in the past, other videos have emerged linking El Güero Pulseras unofficially to officials in Chiapas.
While in recent material, armed subjects indicate that El Güero Pulseras is a person who is not part of the criminal structure that was led by Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán at the time. In addition, the recording refers to the Chiapas and Guatemala Cartel, which has been identified in journalistic reports.

In response to the accusations made by the Cartel of Chiapas and Guatemala, we want to make it clear that El Güero Pulseras is not a representative of the Sinaloa Cartel in Chiapas, nor do we even consider him a part of our structure.
Similarly, the man speaking in the video accuses El Güero Pulseras of being responsible for various crimes in the state, such as extortion, kidnapping, and even fentanyl trafficking.
In July 2021, Ramón Gilberto Rivera, aka El Junior, was murdered in Chiapas. He was a man who allegedly betrayed Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, one of the leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel. After El Junior’s death, journalist Anabel Hernández stated that the man who would have taken his place is known as El Guero Pulseras.
This individual would have tried to impose quotas on local groups in Chiapas after stating that the territory belongs to El Mayo Zambada. While in January, the nickname “El Güero Pulseras” appeared twice, one of them in mid-month when a threatening banner and human remains were found on a bridge in Chiapas.
On January 22nd, a group of armed individuals wearing tactical equipment appeared in a video accusing police officers of allegedly colluding with criminals and claiming responsibility for the attack against a police facility.
“As long as you continue to protect ‘El Güero’ Bracelets from the Sinaloa Cartel and sending police officers to collect fees from migrants, we will continue to attack police bases. The attack on the Malpaso police was the first warning, for the next one we will not only shoot their patrol cars and base, we will enter and kill them.”
