The most well-known case was that of the Núñez brothers in Aldama.
In the first ten days of January of this year, the municipalities of Aldama, Ojinaga, and Casas Grandes lead in the number of reported disappearances, according to investigations issued by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), which issued a total of 10 reports during that period.
The list includes the municipalities along the corridor from Aldama to Ojinaga, namely Coyame and Manuel Benavides, as well as those in Nuevo Casas Grandes and the surrounding areas, which are the most problematic zones, according to activist Gabino Gómez.
The first report was for Baudel Sosa Marta, 45 years old, who was last seen on January 4th in Aldama, according to his family.
According to the missing person report, the victim is 178 centimeters tall, weighs 78 kilograms, has fair skin, a robust build, medium-length light brown hair, medium-sized hazel eyes, a round face, a medium-sized nose, a medium-sized mouth, and thick lips. He has several moles on his face.
That same day, but in the municipality of Madera, Jaime Yael Domínguez Núñez, 17 years old, was reported missing. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing dark denim pants, a white and blue jacket, and cowboy boots.
Jaime Yael is approximately 1.83 meters tall, weighs 70 kilograms, has light brown skin, a slender build, and abundant, wavy black hair. He has dark brown, elongated eyes, an oval face, a flat nose, and a medium-sized, asymmetrical mouth. He was reported to be wearing braces on his teeth.
Also in Madera, on January 3rd, Raúl Daniel Sandoval Bencomo, 30 years old, originally from Cuauhtémoc, was reported missing, with the authorities notified by the man’s family. Raúl Daniel has the surname “Sandoval” tattooed on one of his arms, a skeleton on his left hand, and a bird on his neck; he is 160 centimeters tall, weighs 60 kilograms, and has a slender build and a dark complexion.
Another disappearance that occurred in the municipality of Madera, specifically in the community of La Norteña, was that of Lorena Gutiérrez Lozoya, 38 years old, and Óscar Barrón Rascón, 52 years old, who were reported missing on January 3.
The case that has most distressed the population is that of the siblings Elizabeth, Abel, and Israel Soto Núñez, originally from and residents of Aldama, who were forcibly taken from their home in that city by an armed group in the early morning hours of January 6. The bodies of the three siblings were found last Thursday, January 8, alongside the highway, at kilometer 57 of the toll road connecting Aldama and Ojinaga.
The most recent missing person report issued by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) was for Francisco Díaz Herrera, who was last seen on January 6 of this year in the municipality of Coyame del Sotol.
According to the information provided by the agency, the young man is 18 years old and was last seen heading home in Coyame del Sotol on January 6, and his whereabouts have been unknown since then.
He has a slender build, a light brown complexion, is 1.75 meters tall, and weighs 70 kilograms. A distinguishing feature is that he has difficulty moving his left arm.
He has short, dark hair; light brown eyes, an oval face, and a straight nose; he also has a large, asymmetrical mouth. When he was last seen, he was wearing a royal blue sweatshirt, denim pants, a black and white baseball cap, and black sneakers.
