The Attorney General’s Office considered the drug trafficker’s action in Mexico illegal.
The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) is preparing to request an arrest warrant against Joaquín Guzmán López, one of El Chapo’s sons, for his alleged responsibility in the kidnapping of Ismael El Mayo Zambada on Thursday, July 25.
The agency reported that El Chapo Guzmán’s son abducted the co-founder of the Sinaloa cartel with the aim of handing him over to the United States authorities, in El Paso, Texas.
Likewise, the FGR reported that it managed to track with “precision” the exact place from which the plane in which El Mayo Zambada and Guzmán López were arrested left.
What happened with the murder of Héctor Cuén?
Regarding the case of the murder of the former rector of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, Héctor Cuén, on the same day of the arrest of the drug traffickers, and the video that the Sinaloa Prosecutor’s Office released of the homicide, they assured that the information revealed so far isn’t acceptable.
In addition, they don’t have the reliable elements of proof that allow it to be taken into account, in the way it was presented.
“Regarding (the case of Héctor Cuén) the federal institution has managed to establish, with precision, that the information about what happened at a gas station in the municipality of Culiacán is not acceptable,” was shown in a bulletin from the agency.
In addition, they assured that they located the property where the probable crimes of kidnapping, homicides, injuries and acts linked to forced disappearance of the former rector of the UAS were carried out.
“The exterior of the building is already protected by the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the FGR, while the respective proceedings are being carried out.”
Likewise, the vehicles that were used to commit the possible kidnapping of Cuén were identified.
“The relevant data will be submitted through due process to the federal judicial authorities, when they resume their work. Regardless of this, the federal ministerial and police investigations will continue until the corresponding files are duly integrated.”
