An emergency call reporting gunfire has led to an ongoing operation that has lasted for several hours; it’s suspected that Miguel Germán Martínez Rangel—or Miguel Eduardo Martínez Rangel, alias “El Mike”—is currently located near the event venue.
Miguel Germán Martínez Rangel (or Miguel Eduardo Martínez Rangel), alias “El Mike”—the alleged operational arm of the *Los Rusos* criminal group in Mexicali—is currently besieged near an event venue located in the Carranza neighborhood, following a series of emergency 911 reports regarding gunshots.
Since the early hours of this Friday, April 10, municipal and state law enforcement agencies have mobilized near the event venue known as *Laviña*—located at the intersection of G Street and 89th Street—following reports of gunfire.
Upon the arrival of patrol officers, the individuals involved threw their firearms into a neighboring residence; however, the officers—with the assistance of a private citizen—managed to gain entry and recover the weapons.
During the initial altercation, one of the partygoers threw a bottle that struck an officer. This incident triggered a massive law enforcement mobilization in the area, as well as the detention of an individual identified as Jesús Roberto Romo Galindo—who is presumed innocent until his culpability is established by a judicial ruling, in accordance with Article 13 of the National Code of Criminal Procedure (CNPP)—a native of Sinaloa.
From the early morning hours until the present moment, police have maintained a perimeter around the location. As a pressure tactic, alleged members of *Los Rusos* carried out additional attacks in the surrounding vicinity in an attempt to divert the attention of law enforcement agencies.
One such incident occurred at a police station located within the same Carranza neighborhood, which was subjected to a burst of gunfire using .45-caliber weapons.
Following a subsequent operation, the vehicle used in that attack was located; shortly thereafter, another residence was identified where the assailants were allegedly hiding.
As of now, security forces continue to secure the scene—with individuals still remaining inside the event venue—while awaiting a search warrant to gain entry, apprehend those involved, and conduct a thorough search of the premises.
