In Michoacán, as a result of a security operation, Alonso N.—alias “El Repollo”—was arrested. He served as an operative for Juan José Farías Álvarez, alias “El Abuelo,” the alleged leader of the Tepalcatepec Cartel.
The arrest took place within the municipal seat, following clashes that have intensified this week in the municipalities surrounding the stronghold of the former self-defense group leader.
“El Repollo” was transported by air aboard a Mexican Air Force helicopter from Apatzingán to the state delegation of the Attorney General’s Office, headquartered in Morelia.
This individual already faces charges for extortion and holds a high-ranking position within this criminal organization, which is currently engaged in a turf war with other groups, such as the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
