He is considered one of the three associates of the criminal group, along with Hernán Bermúdez Requena (fugitive) and Carlos Tomás Díaz Rodríguez, named as Mr. Tomasín.
Ulises Pinto, known as “El Mamado” and/or “El 88,” allegedly one of the leaders of the criminal group “La Barredora,” has been arrested in the state of Jalisco.
This individual is considered one of the three associates, along with Hernán Bermúez Requena (fugitive) and Carlos Tomás Díaz Rodríguez, known as “Lic. Tomasín,” who was captured on January 19 in Puebla.
According to local media, such as the newspaper Tabasco HOY, “El Mamado” and/or “El 88,” identified as one of the main perpetrators of the violence in the state, was arrested this Wednesday in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Although there is no official statement, the name of Ulises Pinto Madera appears in the National Arrest Registry. He was arrested at 10:40 a.m. today by members of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

The detainee’s description states: “He is approximately 1.80 meters tall, thin build, has a beard, is wearing a light gray round-neck shirt, black pants, and black tennis shoes. Date of arrest: Wednesday, July 23, 2025.”
On July 11, in an interview, the commander of the 30th Military Zone, Miguel Ángel López Martínez, revealed that former Secretary of Security Hernán Bermúdez, along with other alleged members of “La Barredora,” had an arrest warrant out for him.
“They had no arrest warrant and now we can say that thanks to the coordination and work of the FIRT and the contribution and work of the Prosecutor’s Offices, practically all of them already have arrest warrants, Requena, Prada, Tomasín has already been arrested, Pinto, all of them, none of them had an arrest warrant”, he pointed out.
And he added: “So the former secretary of public security Hernan Bermudez Requena has an arrest warrant. Prada, Ulises Pinto, El Rayo, La Mosca, El Gato, those didn’t have arrest warrants, we don’t say the names, but that’s what’s important,” he said.
Garcia Harfuch published a video of the arrest:

* Assassins for “El Mamado” and/or “El 88,” have mentioned his name in videos here, and here.
* Assassins for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) have mentioned Carlos Tomás Díaz Rodríguez aka Lic Thomas on video as far back as February 2024 and again on October 2024.
