During an operation involving more than 300 officers, authorities seized improvised knives, appliances, cell phones, and other prohibited belongings.

The operation was carried out unexpectedly in the cells of Area 3
Improvised knives, appliances, cell phones, among many other items, were seized during the surprise search carried out Tuesday morning at the State Social Reintegration Center No. 3 in Ciudad Juárez.
Approximately 300 members of the Penitentiary System, the National Guard, the National Defense Force, the Police Force, the General Staff, and the Special Operations Directorate participated in the operation, which began around 6:00 a.m. “The action was carried out in coordination with authorities from all three levels of government, with the goal of detecting and removing unauthorized and/or prohibited objects, as well as maintaining good governance, stability, and security in the Chihuahua State Penitentiary Centers,” stated the State Public Security Secretariat.
The SSPE reported that the search was carried out in seven modules that make up Area 3, where they were able to seize various prohibited objects and items, including:
• 220 homemade knives
• 192 household appliances
• 22 pieces of miscellaneous tools
• 2 cell phones
• 83 Santa Muerte figurines
• 100 decorative wooden frames
• 4 flasks
• 2 coolers
• 1 blood pressure monitor
• 228 caps
• 3 pairs of weights
• 1 barbell with exercise discs
• 10 sets of jewelry
• 7 miscellaneous toys
• 4 bicycles
• 44 watches
• 7 sunglasses
• 116 cigarette packs
• 9 electronic chargers
• 29 lighters
• 6 homemade pipes
• 4 USB flash drives
• 12 nail clippers
• 6 charging cables
• 2 mirrors
In addition, during the same operation, some items prohibited by prison regulations were seized from the various dormitories. These items were:
• Unauthorized clothing
• Blankets
• Furniture
However, a few weeks ago, on September 9th, nearly 200 members of the SSPE (Spanish Prison Service), the National Guard, and the Mexican Army conducted another search, during which they seized nearly 100 prohibited items.
