As part of the ground interventions, the Specialized Group personnel worked with 10 boreholes that were dug at strategic points.
This Friday it was confirmed that the forensic inspections were concluded in the points of interest related to the recent findings in the area of “El Willy” located in the municipality of Casas Grandes, Chihuahua.
Last February 19, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) informed in a press conference that in “El Willy”, a total of 81 bodies were located in several clandestine graves.
At that time, Alejandro Vargas Salas, who is the District Attorney in the Northwest Zone, said that with the discovery of 8 bodies a day before the conference, a total of 69 bodies were found, in a total of 48 processed graves, in addition to another 12 bodies located in 11 graves in the municipality of Ascensión.

On Friday, the Local Search Commission of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of Human Rights Violations and Forced Disappearances announced that the forensic inspections of the points of interest related to the recent findings in the area of “El Willy” were concluded.
Officially, it was detailed that the revisions were extended to the neighboring areas to conclude in the municipality of Ascensión, where aerial and ground works were deployed, also discarding the presence of interesting indications that could be related to the disappearance or non location of persons.
As part of the ground interventions, the Specialized Group personnel worked with 10 test pits that were dug at strategic points and the gaps of the place were covered, with negative results to the presence of more clandestine graves or evidence of criminalistic interest.

It should be recalled that, at the beginning of this year, a series of multidisciplinary activities began that allowed the tracking of clandestine graves and the seizure of remains in the northwest zone, which were maintained for several months until the inspection of the points indicated as places of interest was completed.
After concluding with the reviews related to “El Willy”, the Local Search Commission informed that it will maintain regular interventions in the northwestern part of the state, as part of the work plan to permanently follow up on cases of missing or unlocated persons.
