In an operation carried out by elements of the State Citizen Security Force (FESC), three individuals who allegedly belong to the cell of “El Cabezón,” the leader of a group affiliated with “Los Rusos,” were apprehended in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood of Mexicali.
According to information provided by the authorities, it was around 7 p.m. on Wednesday when a group of FESC agents was patrolling Jalisco Street, between Progreso and Mérida streets.
At the address 909, the officers observed three people who, upon noticing the police presence, entered a house that had previously been seized by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
The individuals, according to the authorities, broke the perimeter tape and entered the property that had been seized on December 3 by the FGE’s anti-narcotics unit.
The officers attempted to enter, but the individuals closed the doors and a struggle ensued, followed by an attack with shovels.
While some of the individuals filmed the intervention, others attacked the officers, to the point that one of them bit an agent’s hand.
As a result of the intervention, Juan José Martínez Camarena, Raúl Antonio Martínez Camarena, and Luis Antonio Beltrán Martínez, all originally from Mexicali, were arrested. They were found in possession of several grams of heroin and methamphetamine.
The individuals were charged with drug possession, violating the seals on the property, and assaulting a law enforcement officer, but the most significant aspect was that they allegedly belong to “El Cabezón’s” cell. In fact, one of the individuals threatened the officers, claiming to belong to the “Los Rusos” criminal group.
