A violent vehicle theft was reported Tuesday night on the Parral to Matamoros highway, near the entrance to Villa Matamoros, where a driver was intercepted by armed men who forced him to hand over his pickup truck.
According to the report, the woman who filed the report indicated that her husband was on his way to Chihuahua to pick up some relatives when he was suddenly approached by a black pickup truck, from which three men got out or approached.
The victim was driving a white 2021 four-door Suburban pickup truck with tinted windows and Durango license plates. According to his testimony, the attackers ordered him not to look at them, threatening him, which caused him to fear being shot.
The driver, identified as O. M., couldn’t provide further details about the perpetrators due to his nervous state after the assault, only managing to say that there were three men in the black vehicle.
The victim’s wife filed the report with the authorities, stating that her husband managed to contact her after the incident to inform her of what had happened and the threats he received during the robbery, according to the official report.
The information also indicated that, for security reasons and fear of possible retaliation, they’re not currently in the city, she requested that the authorities contact her directly to follow up on the case.
The stolen vehicle’s documents are in the name of a woman, who provided a contact phone number for any information related to the location of the pickup truck, according to the information released by Public Security.
In this regard, it is stated that security personnel were alerted to the theft of the private vehicle, and the incident was registered, initiating the corresponding actions to search for the vehicle and identify the perpetrators.
