After the discovery of two murdered and bound ministerial agents in Taxco de Alarcón, members of Los Tlacos, also known as the Guerrero Federation, distanced themselves from the incident and pointed to the La Familia Michoacana cartel as responsible.
In the hours following the location of the police officers Isaac del Ángel Meza and Higinio Villanueva Hidario, residents of the municipality alerted the authorities about the presence of two cardboard signs on the road leading to the community of San Francisco Cuadra.
“Fcking Marucheros, have some guts, they killed the ministeriales and now they want to change things. Have some balls ‘Pelón’ fcking bunch of f*ggots, just like ‘El Pez’ and ‘Fresa’, don’t try to cover the sun with one finger (sic.)”, one of the messages read.
The second card accused the group led by the Hurtado Olascoaga brothers of murdering paramedics, women priests and children: “They are used to it and blame others.”

At the end of this latest statement, the Guerrerense Federation stated that “we respect the government, stop thrashing around like a drowning person.”
Reports obtained through this means indicated that the Guerrero Federation, announced in early 2023 as an organization dedicated to combatting the Michoacan Family, is another name used by the Tlacos.
In addition to Jose Alfredo ‘El Fresa’ and Johnny ‘El Pez’ Hurtado Olascoaga, the Tlacos pointed out as the alleged culprit of the violence in the region a regional leader identified as ‘El Pelón’, whose name is Roberto Carlos Zagal.
According to government sources quoted in journalistic reports, this individual is the chief of hitmen for the Michoacana Family in Guerrero territory and has his operations base precisely in the municipality of Taxco, where the officers were found.

‘El Pelón’ is also known as the nephew of Ramiro Jaimes Gómez, former mayor of Taxco, and the son of José Ranulfo Zagal Maldonado, also known as ‘El Rani’, leader of the Michoacana Family who was arrested in November 2022.
‘El Rani’ was previously a member of the Municipal Police of Taxco, but he started working for the Hurtado Olascoaga brothers and expanded his area of influence to neighboring areas of the State of Mexico.
His arrest resulted from a court order for his alleged involvement in the crimes of organized crime and aggravated kidnapping against an unidentified person in 2018.
