Furthermore—also in Guanajuato—following an operation conducted along the border between León and Silao, state and federal authorities detained 22 individuals allegedly linked to a criminal group.
An alleged criminal leader, identified as César Arturo N—alias “El Tikki”—was detained along with 21 other individuals during an operation carried out by the State Attorney General’s Office along the border between León and Silao.
Telediario confirmed that the detainees—three women and 19 men—have ties to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. According to the Guanajuato State Attorney General’s Office, the arrests were made following an operation launched on May 19th.
This operation stemmed from intelligence work and the tracking of targets deemed to be instigators of violence within the state; the detainees were subsequently placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, and a federal judge ordered them to stand trial.
The Attorney General’s Office reported that “El Tiki”—the group’s leader—was subject to arrest warrants for various homicides. Among those detained is also José Julián N, alias “El Pato,” who had an active arrest warrant for homicide, while César Arturo N was wanted in connection with multiple homicides.
It was reported that the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic charged them with federal crimes, including organized crime, crimes against public health (drug-related offenses), and operations involving funds of illicit origin.
Among the detainees are Antonia Dilene N, Juana Iris N, and Paula Yasmin N. Also included are Luis Ernesto N, Leonardo Daniel N, Alexis Jet N, Eric Enrique N, and Josué Yacairo N, among others.
Finally, authorities seized long and short-barreled firearms, magazines, live ammunition, narcotics, and cash. Furthermore, two executive-style tactical vests and a wooden board bearing initials associated with a criminal group were found at the scene.
