Cartel Insider Author
Sol Prendido
Sol Prendido officially joined his buddy Mica Treviño at Cartel Insider on June 8, 2024, the day his first post went live on the site. But the connection goes back further than that. Before Cartel Insider, both Sol and Mica contributed at Borderland Beat, where they spent years translating, tracking, and documenting Mexico’s cartel war for English-speaking readers.
Together, they bring roughly 50 years of cartel knowledge, translation work, field awareness, and reporting experience to Cartel Insider.
Sol is Cartel Insider’s linguistic expert. His strength is transcription, translation, and breaking down fast-moving cartel-related media before the context gets buried or twisted. He transcribes and translates videos, messages, statements, and other material coming out of Mexico’s cartel landscape, helping readers understand not just what was said, but what it means.
In this world, a bad translation can change everything. Sol helps make sure Cartel Insider readers get the words, the tone, and the weight behind them.
