The arrests were made in the Miguel Hidalgo borough following an operation by the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX), which culminated in the capture of two women allegedly linked to this criminal group, considered a generator of violence in both the capital and municipalities of the State of Mexico.
The detainees, identified as Blanca “N” and Noemí “N”, are allegedly involved in drug distribution and sales, mainly in the Cuauhtémoc Pensil neighborhood, an area that in recent years has been the subject of complaints from residents due to the increase in criminal activity linked to drug trafficking.
Citizen complaints triggered the investigation leading to the arrests
The case originated from citizen complaints, which allowed the Investigative Police (PDI) to identify operational patterns related to the sale of illicit substances in Miguel Hidalgo. This information was key to initiating an intelligence analysis that led to the location of a property allegedly used as a drug distribution point.
According to the FGJCDMX, the property was directly linked to the New Empire Cartel, a criminal organization with an active presence in the Miguel Hidalgo and Azcapotzalco boroughs, as well as in various municipalities of the State of Mexico, where it is involved in territorial disputes.
Search warrant authorized by a control judge
With the evidence gathered, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested a search warrant from a control judge. The warrant was authorized and executed on Wednesday by members of the Investigative Police, in coordination with the National Guard, as part of a joint strategy to reinforce security in areas with high crime rates.
During the search, authorities entered the designated property, where they found evidence related to drug offenses, which led to the arrest of the two women who were on the premises.
Arrest for drug offenses
Blanca “N” and Noemí “N” were arrested for their probable involvement in drug trafficking offenses. In addition to the arrests, agents seized various pieces of evidence that are part of the investigation file and will be analyzed to strengthen the legal proceedings.
The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office didn’t specify the type or quantity of substances seized, but confirmed that the confiscated items are directly related to retail drug distribution in the area.
Family Ties to Criminal Leaders
Following her arrest, Blanca “N” stated that she is the romantic partner of Emmanuel “N,” also known as “El Chanfle,” identified by authorities as a former leader and one of the founders of the Nuevo Imperio Cartel. Emmanuel “N” is currently incarcerated for drug-related offenses.
For her part, Noemí “N” stated that she is the romantic partner of the son of Emmanuel “N” and Blanca “N,” which reinforces the line of investigation related to the family and operational structure of the criminal group.
These personal connections are considered relevant by the authorities, as they help explain how the cartel maintains internal operational networks, even when some of its leaders are in prison.

The New Empire Cartel and its Presence in Mexico City
The Nuevo Imperio Cartel has been identified by Mexico City authorities as a group that generates violence and has a presence in several strategic areas of the city. Its main activities are related to drug trafficking, extortion, and territorial disputes with other criminal organizations.
Operations like this are part of a strategy to weaken the cartel’s operational cells, targeting not only the visible leaders but also those involved in the logistics and distribution of illicit substances.
Security and Citizen Participation
The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) emphasized the importance of citizen participation, highlighting that anonymous tips remain a key tool for identifying drug dealing locations and combating drug trafficking in residential neighborhoods.
Authorities reiterated their call to the public to report suspicious activities, assuring that collaboration between citizens and law enforcement enables targeted actions that directly impact the reduction of violence.
A significant blow to local drug trafficking
The arrests of Blanca “N” and Noemí “N” represent a significant operational blow against the structure of the Nuevo Imperio Cartel in Miguel Hidalgo. Although the investigation is ongoing, the raid and arrests reinforce the strategy of dismantling local criminal networks, especially those operating from residential properties.
The case will proceed through the legal system while authorities delve deeper into the group’s connections and its impact on the security of the area.
