A major operation took place a few hours ago—conducted both on the ground and from the air—which began at midday this Friday in the city of Zapopan, Jalisco. Local police announced the capture of an individual
named Miguel Casillas. He goes by the name “Compa Mike 517″—a 36-year-old U.S. citizen who was being sought by none other than the United States Marshals Service.
This American man is accused of committing murders, attempted murders, and other federal crimes—specifically, offenses related to public health. A large-scale operation was carried out in the city of Zapopan, involving both aerial and ground units—specifically, state-level forces from the Jalisco Secretariat of Public Security—who were pursuing Casillas.
There was an active arrest warrant for him, issued in June of this year and signed in San Diego, California, in the United States. Intelligence analysis located him in the western part of the city of Zapopan, within a residential neighborhood—a prominent, populated area where it seems to have become “normalized” to have neighbors accused of such things. The operation caught residents and passersby by surprise. Following his arrest, “Compa Mike 517” was taken to the National Migration Institute, from where—by all indications—he will be handed over immediately to U.S. authorities.
