Itania Noemí aka La Alemána or La Güera, one of the main operators for the Pacific Cartel in Colima was arrested in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Following a joint operation deployed by the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, National Intelligence Center, Ministry of National Defense, Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico, and the National Guard.
The capture took place in the Mexicalcingo neighborhood in the municipality of Guadalajara. This operation came about after an exhaustive investigation into drug trafficking in the region was made.
Authorities identified the detainee as the head of a criminal cell in charge of trafficking illicit substances in Manzanillo, one of the areas mainly affected by the violence generated by criminal groups.
Itania Noemi is considered one of the most relevant operators of the Mayos faction for the Cartel del Pacífico, a criminal group that disputes territory with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
She ordered criminal activities in Colima from the city of Guadalajara. And is considered one of the principal generators of violence in the port of Manzanillo. In addition, she’s also in charge of controlling drug trafficking sales in the region.
The uniformed officers mobilized to locate her with data provided by the National Intelligence Center. Reconnaissance and security patrols were implemented and she was located on Comercio Street in the Mexicalcingo neighborhood in Guadalajara.
She attempted to escape once the presence of the officers was noticed. The authorities eventually caught up to her, confirmed her identity to prevent an illegal arrest, and she was detained.
