The camera opens on high ground—clean air, open sky, and dry Sinaloa hills rolling out behind them. Scrub and rock catch the sun, the land pale and exposed, the kind of terrain chosen for visibility and certainty. It’s a calm, almost perfect day. The contrast is deliberate.
Then the men.
They stand along the ridge in a loose line, faces covered, dark gear pulled tight against the wind. Rifles rest easy in their hands—familiar, unforced. No rush. No noise. Just posture and confidence. This isn’t performance; it’s presence.
“What’s going on guys. This goes out to everyone who keeps asking us for videos. I’m still in position out here. We’re gong to continue sending out more broadcasts. We are the fucking absolute Churras Calabazas mob.
Culo Bajo (lowly coward an insult to Chapo Isidro), take a look at this. I’m still out here doing my thing. You motherfucking backstabbing thief. I’m going to use this blade that I have to eventually send you some of your operatives back with missing ears.
In time we will meet with each other again. Músico, you coward, try sending out skilled fighters for us to go up against.”
The video is signed by Churras Calabazas 🎃, an operator aligned with Los Chapitos. And on a day this clear, with the setting this controlled, the message lands exactly as intended: a public insult aimed squarely at Chapo Isidro, delivered from a place of calm, confidence, and open sky—before a single word is spoken.
The Chapitos ally, Churras Calabazas, also authored interrogated Alvaro Camacho and Hugo Sepùlveda by Sol Prendido.

Culo caido lol now that’s a good one. Let’s see how soon Isidro falls.
Sooner than later.
Hey mica! Just curious as to why you’re not afraid of some bad people catching you in Mexico? Have a good day!
Thanks for the question. When I’m in Mexico, I don’t announce it. My trips are deliberately low-key, and I don’t use social media any more. At airports, I alter my appearance. While reporting, I rotate hotels during the trip and speak gringo Spanish—if I speak Spanish at all. I travel with a cover story, my phone is wiped in advance, and I never carry my Mexican cell phone. I’ll have transportation drop me at the wrong hotel, then switch rides or walk the rest of the way. No Rolex. No Tumi luggage.
I’ve learned a great deal from my mentor, Ioan Grillo, and I’ve trained at home with security professionals in counter-surveillance. Experience teaches discipline, and discipline keeps you alive.
I show my face to readers and share parts of my personal life so people can connect with me. I live a normal life like many of you—except I communicate with cartel bosses. I don’t hide behind a mask. That said, much of my background remains private by design. I’ve been recognized in Mexico once; it was a friendly interaction, and a reminder that anonymity has an expiration date if you’re not careful.
Damn what a burn!!!! Do you think chapo Isidro is gonna release a diss video???? I bet Isidro is loosing so much sleep over this diss track.
Damn son I can’t believe what I just watched. Do they know who they are messing with?? I can’t believe that came with those insults. Well thought of video in grandmas backyard.
Chapo Isidro is not the type to release videos or hang mantas. Historically, his messaging has been minimal. That hasn’t changed.
What has changed is his position. Isidro is in trouble and on the run, with fewer allies than he’s had in years. My sources say he fled Sinaloa and is now in Monterrey.
The Chapitos are not his biggest threat. The real pressure is coming from the U.S. government and its push on the Sheinbaum administration. Isidro is being positioned as a major fentanyl producer. I can’t make the details public yet, but a key money launderer tied to his operation has been identified and is now under scrutiny.
Well Mica, not to be an ass or nothing but your contacts haven’t always been right or trustworthy. You said Chapitos were winning the war, that the the Sarabias organization was breaking up, that nobody respected Mayito Flaco and that they were on the verge of turning in or trying to take over the whole enchilada, and you even said that it was el Vicentillo really running things, all have proven false. Chapitos are losing territory in a major way, and they’re losing operatives. Either their getting arrested, switching sides, or getting killedWhile the Sarabias are looking strong and united and firmly behind MF.
I give my readers the best information I have at the time. I’ve never sold myself as infallible, and anyone pretending they are in this space is lying—to themselves or their audience. Bad intel is part of this world. Every narco journalist, every outlet, and every so-called expert who lives off clips, Reddit, and Telegram rumors has eaten bad information at some point. The difference is I don’t hide when the picture shifts.
I make calls. I own them.
Sometimes they land. Sometimes they don’t. That’s part of this work.
People also seem to forget quickly. I publicly flagged the FEU alliance in September 2024, long before it became safe—or fashionable—to talk about. That didn’t come from Twitter clips or recycled chatter.
If you really want proof of how I operate, it’s simple: I didn’t delete your comment. I’m addressing it directly. I’m not always right, but I do have integrity—and that’s exactly why Cartel Insider continues to grow. People can disagree with my assessments, but they know I don’t manipulate the record or silence criticism.
Yes, I said the Chapitos are winning. That’s my assessment, and I still stand by it. What you’re seeing in the north are traitors trying to survive as pressure increases—not proof of strategic defeat. This war is 15 months deep. Call me when Mayiza takes Culiacán. Call me when Mazatlán is actually lost. Until then, victory laps are premature.
I never said the Sarabia organization was “breaking up.” What I said—and still say—is that Alejandro Sarabia does not respect Mayito Flaco and intends to move against him when pressure mounts.
I also said El Vicentillo is involved and making independent moves. If that’s “proven false,” show me how. Not opinions. Not vibes. Evidence.
Every faction has taken losses. That’s war. So let’s be precise: what territory have the Chapitos fully lost? Not contested zones. Not drive-through videos. Passing through a block doesn’t mean you own it.
If you want to debate this, I’m here for it. But let’s do it seriously—facts, timelines, control, logistics.
That’s how I’ve always done this.
— Mica Treviño
Sup Mica, what happened to that post regarded cartel indepemdiente de Sinaloa ? Why was it taken down? That was a good article I wanted to share with my brother.
I just spoke to Sol, and he said there was only something and that we didn’t post. We also don’t take down articles. Sorry.
