Through the State Security Bureau, it was announced that in a joint operation by the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministerial Criminal Investigation Agency and the State Public Security Police, an arsenal of firearms, armored vehicles and magazines were seized in Caborca.
Authorities reported that at kilometer 74, just past the community of La Y Griega, a Chevrolet Sierra was seized and its occupants got out of the car when they saw the joint operation.
Inside the vehicle there were six AK-47 rifles and 57 magazines for AK-47 rifles.
Ground patrols were implemented with the support of drone equipment, locating three other vehicles within a range of 200 meters. Two of which are Improvised Armored Fighting Vehicles (IAFVs) and a Toyota Tundra.
The arsenal and the seized vehicles were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding proceedings.
