Members of the State Civil Guard pursued suspected criminals in Tamasopo, but they escaped and abandoned a long gun, ammunition magazines, and tactical equipment.
The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection reported that police officers were conducting surveillance patrols in the Agua Buena district when they detected two armed men.
Upon noticing the presence of the police units, the individuals fled into an unpopulated area, leaving behind a 5.56 calibre assault rifle, seven magazines, 70 live rounds and three tactical vests, which raised alarms due to the dangerous nature of the equipment found.
The weapons were handed over to the competent authorities for the corresponding investigations, while surveillance operations were reinforced in this area of the municipality, considered a priority.
