Military personnel arrested a cell of the Arellano Félix Cartel (CAF) while they were holding a meeting. They were allegedly being guarded by elements of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) and the National Guard (GN).
In addition, they also had cloned vehicles in their possession. The arrest took place early Friday morning during a routine patrol carried out by a military platoon in the Los Santos neighborhood. One of the seized trucks had plates that belonged to an official patrol of the State Attorney General’s Office.
Among those detained is Luis Dagoberto Mendía Ruíz aka El Wicho, supposed second in command in the organization in Tijuana. Authorities have identified him as one of their priority targets.
