The National Guard, with the support of a police dog, secured 300 liters of chemical precursors in Mazatlán, which are used for the production of synthetic drugs. The substance was hidden in drums that were supposed to contain fertilizer. The discovery took place at a mail and package company in the Mazatlán Bus Station. This action was part of the National Guard’s strategic efforts to prevent the trafficking and distribution of narcotics, currencies, and firearms.
While conducting routine package screenings, a dog displayed interest in a shipment of 15 drums, each containing 20 liters, labeled as fertilizer. The dog’s behavior changed, suggesting the possible presence of illicit substances.
The authorities thoroughly examined the plastic containers and found a dark brown liquid with the characteristics of a chemical used to make synthetic drugs. The suspected chemical, which was intended for delivery to an address in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, was confiscated and handed over to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s office for further investigation. The National Guard reiterates its commitment to eliminating the transportation of any substances that could harm the health of Mexicans, especially young people.
