As the trial of Eduardo Ramírez Tiburcio, also known as “El Chori,” was granted pretrial detention, the authorities in Mexico City were boasting about the results of a massive operation in Naucalpan – the municipality where the criminal leader resided – which ended in the arrest of 27 individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
According to information from the Security Secretariat of the State of Mexico (SSEM), it was the “Macro Interagency Operation Naucalpan” to combat high-impact crimes and attack the operations of organized crime, just before the start of the Easter vacation season.
At the end of the operation, it was reported that 27 individuals -including a minor- were arrested, accused of their probable involvement in crimes against health, carrying firearms, impersonation of functions, cover-up, misuse of insignias, theft, and attacks against media and communication routes.
Among the secured substances and items, the following stand out: homemade weapons, drugs, five vehicles, bulletproof vests, radios, shirts, and a shield with the abbreviation SSEM, as well as four units of public transportation that violated traffic regulations.
The SSEM reported that during the operation, 650 people, 150 vehicles, 50 units of public transportation, and 70 motorcycles were inspected.

This evening, an intelligence team from the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC- CDMX) raided a residence in Jardines de San Mateo, Naucalpan, the place of residence of “El Chori”, the leader of the Tepito Union who was arrested on March 18th in the area of the Picacho-Ajusco highway.
At “El Chori’s” house, his son’s toys and his wife Emily Getzemani’s dogs were left behind after she was transferred to the Santa Martha Acatitla women’s prison.
According to the first reports from the authorities, computers, notebooks with alleged lists containing names and addresses of clients of the Union Tepito, and other papers related to their finances and criminal activities were seized at the scene.
Unofficially, raids were reported in other buildings in the boroughs of Tlalpan -where the arrest took place-, Cuauhtémoc, Benito Juárez, and Milpa Alta, allegedly located in strategic areas for the development of criminal activities by the so-called “Chilango Cartel”.

Another event involving “El Chori” was the hearing where he was detained in pretrial custody by default due to the high risk of flight that a profile like his represents.
It’s worth remembering that the leader of the Tepito Union will face charges for carrying a firearm for exclusive use, drug dealing, and bribery, but it won’t be until March 24th when the hearing takes place to determine whether or not they will be tried.
It is necessary to specify that the crime of possession of an exclusive weapon is of federal nature, so it will be the competent authorities who will attract this investigation file related to one of the most wanted criminals by the authorities in the capital city, whose arrest began to be orchestrated at least three months ago thanks to intelligence work.
