The State Guard managed to rescue 21 people, including two minors, who were being held in a safe house in the Balcones de Alcalá neighborhood of Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
So far, the State Security Spokesperson’s Office hasn’t provided official information on these events. However, José Andrés Méndez Ñeco, a member of the Collective Love for the Disappeared in Tamaulipas, announced that in the case of the minors, there was no missing person report, but their families were searching for them.
“I was anonymously notified of 21 people who were being held in custody, so we did the appropriate thing by informing the authorities. They gave me their names, ages, and where they were from. It’s very sad for us that there are minors, a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, who had no missing person report, yet their families were searching for them.”
Méndez Ñeco indicated that eight of the rescued individuals had been reported missing through the Amor por los Desaparecidos Collective (Love for the Disappeared), who, upon learning of the rescue, contacted their families.
“It should be noted that we contacted the family, told them they were fine, and sent them to the Prosecutor’s Office to give their statements. This was due to an operation carried out by the State Guard and the Tamaulipas Prosecutor’s Office. While it’s true that no official statement has been issued by the Spokesperson’s Office, we don’t know why, but it is reliable information, and their families are already with them. At least eight are already at home.”
The rest of those rescued, he said, are being protected and safeguarded by the Tamaulipas Prosecutor’s Office, they are asking their families to send a message to the collective’s website to be referred to the relevant authorities.
“We are referring them to the Prosecutor’s Office so they can complete the identification protocol and file a missing persons report, as well as another for illegal deprivation of liberty. It’s worth mentioning that two people suffered severe dehydration and are in a hospital in the city.”
The activist commented that the hypothesis is that these individuals were abducted to perform forced labor or were planning to cross into the United States.
There are no arrests so far; the corresponding investigations are being conducted. We believe the Prosecutor’s Office should take the appropriate action. The National and State Guard should also conduct patrols to identify these safe houses and guarantee the safety of citizens and those passing through.”

Great work rescuing them.
This definitely doesn’t happen on this scale in the USA.
