According to the most solid investigation into the death of five ridesharing company drivers, who had made a trip to Ojinaga on May 30 and were found dead on Friday, June 7, the criminal group La Línea was responsible for the multiple executions, the main reason being that they had not “paid their quotas” to the criminal group.
The most robust information the agency has regarding the deaths of Fabián Ramos Torres, Abigael Ramos González, Sandra Saláis Calzadíaz, Abigael Ramos Torres and Francisco Iván Flores Hernández, is that at least three of the five drivers who were killed had been working for some time transporting migrants to Ojinaga, an area in which the criminal group operates.
The Attorney General, César Jáuregui Moreno, reported that human trafficking was the illegal activity for which they had been abducted and later abandoned dead on the eastbound highway heading north at kilometer 25.
“Human trafficking, and the criminal group that is evidently in control of that area, those are the lines of investigation that are in place and the responsible criminal group has been fully identified,” he said in an interview.
Jáuregui Moreno commented that the five bodies were already duly identified, corroborating that they did correspond to the five ride-hailing service drivers who had been reported missing on May 30.
The attorney general explained that the investigations continue to be strengthened to be able to find those responsible for the crime, as well as to determine other data that is of utmost importance in the case.
It was on May 31 when the disappearance of the ridesharing company drivers was revealed, who allegedly came from the town of Ojinaga after transferring passengers, losing all communication with their families on the afternoon of May 30.
During the morning of June 7, the five bodies in a state of decomposition and with visible signs of violence were located on the side of the road on the Eastern bypass.
The cause of death of the four men and the woman was that each one was shot at the base of their skulls, an estimation of five days was determined to have elapsed before their discovery was made. The state of decomposition on the bodies suggested that they were buried elsewhere. It is believed that they were unearthed and transferred to the point mentioned above.
The funeral service of the brothers Fabián and Abigael Ramos Torres, as well as their father Abigael Ramos González, was held in a chapel in Aldama last Saturday, the municipality where they were buried. Meanwhile, Sandra Saláis Calzadiaz and Francisco Iván Flores Hernández were buried in cemeteries in the state capital during Sunday, June 9.
It should be noted that this case shocked society in general, coupled with the fact that on June 7 the state attorney general’s office issued an investigation to find the whereabouts of another driver, Lorenzo Antonio Ramírez Manquero, 39 years old. , who was last seen on June 6, 2024 when he left the town of Delicias bound for the state capital, aboard a white 2019 Nissan Versa vehicle.
It was at 2 p.m. on June 6, when some of the drivers had their last contact with him, he mentioned that he was carrying passengers. Once contact with him was lost his companions began searching for him.
Some of the drivers from the ridesharing company were aware, because on June 8, on a dirt road in the Carrizalillo area, a white Nissan Versa was located, which was completely burned out and with a deceased person inside.
The biggest alarm in this case was that the burned vehicle coincides with the one driven by the missing driver. Meanwhile, the ministerial authority hasn’t been able to identify the body that was inside the burned car, due to the state in which it was found.
