Jesús Óscar Padilla Osuna, alias “El Oso” (The Bear), was arrested by State Police officers in eastern Mexicali after a chase. It should be noted that the man is considered a high-priority target by authorities for belonging to a criminal group operating in the region.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 2nd, a police operation was launched by officers of the Baja California Secretariat of Citizen Security on Ninth Street, in the eastern part of the state capital, after the driver of a blue Honda Civic was observed speeding, which led to a chase.
Officers stated that they ordered the driver to stop the vehicle, but he ignored the command, initiating the pursuit, which ended when the vehicle crashed into a curb at the intersection with Independencia Avenue.
Following the intervention of the agents, they arrested the suspect, who, after searching his vehicle, was found in possession of 30 doses of cocaine weighing approximately 24 grams. After cross-referencing information with the authorities, the detainee was identified as Jesús Óscar Padilla Osuna, 33 years old, originally from Culiacán, Sinaloa.
“El Oso” (The Bear), along with the seized drugs, was turned over to the State Attorney General’s Office to begin the corresponding investigations.
Jesús Óscar is an alleged leader of drug dealing in Mexicali, specifically in the El Cóndor neighborhood; he is linked to an individual named Junior Astorga, known as J5, whose properties in the city’s Golden Zone have been raided several times.
