The arrests occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m., after the 911 Emergency System received a report of armed individuals in three vehicles at kilometer 54.
With the arrest of ten individuals in the El Sauz area on Wednesday, November 27, as a result of an investigation by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Strategic Operations, law enforcement agencies at all three levels of government have apprehended 11 people in one week who, at the time of their arrest, were wearing bulletproof or tactical vests with the initials “MF,” identified as belonging to the Sinaloa Cartel.
The first arrest occurred on November 20, in the early morning hours, when officers from the Chihuahua State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE) arrested a man in possession of long guns and ammunition restricted to military use.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m., after the 911 Emergency System received a report of armed individuals in three vehicles at kilometer 54, near the intersection of the Chihuahua-Ciudad Juárez highway and the road to El Sauz.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed a man who appeared nervous and fled toward a vacant lot. He was apprehended about 15 meters away and identified as Erick Omar V. S., 31 years old, originally from the state of Chihuahua.
The suspect was taken back to the initial location, where he identified a GMC vehicle as his own. During the search, a black tactical vest with the inscription “MF Special Forces” was found, along with a magazine and .223 caliber cartridges. Later, at a nearby property, agents seized two rifles, one a .223 caliber and the other a .308 caliber, both with loaded magazines.
The final arrest took place in El Sauz, north of the state capital, where 10 individuals were apprehended in the act of committing crimes, including violations of the General Law on Firearms and Explosives, drug-related offenses, attempted homicide, and property damage.
In the official image released by the agency, each of the detainees is seen wearing a bulletproof or tactical vest with the same inscription, which, according to police intelligence, is linked to the son of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, leader and founder of the Sinaloa Cartel.
