Jorge Ernesto Peñuelas Parra, ‘El Sillas’ once a feared hitman for the Arellano Félix Cartel (CAF), was found dead on June 10, 2024, outside an Oxxo store on Ejidatario Avenue in Tijuana. His body bore multiple bruises and a bullet wound, a grim testament to his violent life and death.

A Notorious History:
Peñuelas, known for his brutal tactics, operated under the command of Fernando Sánchez Arellano and Juan Sillas Rocha. He was infamous for orchestrating kidnappings, including the abductions of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada’s nieces and Raydel Rosalío López Uriarte “El Muletas”’s sister and brother-in-law in 2010.

A Violent End:
Witnesses reported seeing Peñuelas, dressed in gray sweatpants and a checkered brown cap, walking towards the store before being shot seven times at point-blank range. His death is part of a violent purge initiated by the Sinaloa Cartel following a series of drug-related conflicts in Baja California.

Legacy of Terror:
From launching grenade attacks on anti-kidnapping units to kidnapping rival cartel members, Peñuelas left a trail of violence across Tijuana. Despite multiple arrests and charges for kidnapping and homicide, he remained a crucial player in the cartel wars until his death.

Peñuelas’s execution highlights the relentless and bloody struggle for power among Mexico’s cartels.
