The Mexican justice procurement institution reported that at 4:00 am on January 26th, 2024, elements of the Municipal Police of Villa Guerrero, notified the discovery of the body and over 200 ballistic elements.
The State Prosecutor’s Office in Mexico detailed that they were looking for the alleged criminal, because he was considered one of the main generators of violence in the southern region of the state and for this reason he was one of their top targets.
“Today at 4:00 am, local police in #VillaGuerrero reported the discovery of a body inside a car and more than 200 ballistic elements. Early indications suggest that it is Clemente ‘N’ alias ‘Ratón’, a generator of violence and a priority target for authorities,” stated the FGJEM on their social media account X.”
The General Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Mexico reported, on January 12, 2024, about the arrest of Nancy Lizeth “N”, who, along with her partner Clemente “N”, alias “El Ratón”, were alleged members of the criminal group La Familia Michoacana.
The woman was dressed like a bride and in the middle of her own wedding, which was taking place in a church located in the center of the municipality of Villa Guerrero. However, she was arrested by agents of the Mexican justice institution, accused for her alleged involvement in the crime of extortion.
During the operation, led by the Mexican Prosecutor’s Office, elements of the National Defense Secretariat (SEDENA), the National Guard (GN), and the State of Mexico Police participated.
Despite the woman’s arrest, who was charged and is currently in preventive detention awaiting a sentence, “El Ratón” -with whom she was going to marry- escaped from the authorities, which is why his search continued.
On the other hand, Mexican authorities identified that Rodrigo “N”, Daniel “N”, Jesús “N”, Ángel Daniel “N” and Santiago “N”, who were arrested during other operations, were also part of the same criminal cell.
In a statement, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico reported that extortion decreased by 3.44 percent during 2023, compared to the previous year, marking the first decline in the incidence of this crime since 2017.

“The above is the result of legal, operational, and intelligence actions undertaken by this institution with the support of federal, state, and municipal authorities, against criminal groups involved in the commission of this crime, mainly those identified with origins in Michoacán and Jalisco,” explained FGEM.
