Harfuch links Jalisco property to care for wounded crime-group members

Luces del Siglo reports that Omar García Harfuch, Mexico’s secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, said a property in Tecalitlán, Jalisco, had been used to provide care to people wounded while participating in organized crime. The outlet reports that officials had initially described the site as a clandestine hospital, but Harfuch characterized it as a recovery location for injured members of criminal groups. The case was linked by authorities to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, or CJNG.

According to Luces del Siglo, the property was located during an investigation into the disappearance of a 20-year-old man who had traveled to a ranch after an alleged job offer. The operation reportedly led to the release of eight people between 16 and 43 years old and the arrest of five men and one woman. Some of those found at the property were injured, the report says.

Luces del Siglo also reports that the Jalisco prosecutor’s office said authorities seized medicines, crutches, orthopedic materials, 100 rounds of 5.56-caliber ammunition, tactical equipment, drugs, and a scale. Authorities were investigating who had provided medical care, including procedures that may have required specialized treatment. The outlet says the investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations and CJNG attribution remain claims reported by authorities rather than court findings.
