Alleged CJNG regional coordinator arrested in Michoacán

Federal authorities in Michoacán arrested Manuel Alejandro “N,” known as “El Señor de la T,” whom officials identify as a regional coordinator for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Jornada Baja California reports. Authorities say he operated in the municipalities of Angamacutiro, Penjamillo, Panindícuaro, José Sixto Verduzco and Puruándiro.

Omar García Harfuch, Mexico’s public security secretary, said the detainee was considered a violence-generating figure linked by authorities to extortion, kidnapping, homicide, the disappearance of people and retail drug sales. Harfuch said on X that the arrest resulted from coordinated work by the Michoacán prosecutor’s office, state public security authorities, the Defense and Navy secretariats, the federal public security secretariat and the Attorney General’s Office.

Jornada Baja California reports that the arrest took place as part of the federal National Strategy Against Extortion. The report says federal and state authorities are maintaining operations aimed at disrupting extortion and detaining figures considered to be driving violence against families and productive sectors in Michoacán.

According to information attributed to the federal government, “El Señor de la T” previously belonged to La Familia Michoacana and Los Zetas before joining the organization led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho.” The 51-year-old detainee has active arrest warrants for homicide and disappearance committed by private individuals, the report says. He was placed at the disposal of the competent authority while those cases proceed; the allegations and cartel affiliation remain claims attributed to authorities, not court findings.
