Noticias PV reports 77 arrests in Jalisco during Sheinbaum's first 23 months
Noticias PV reports that federal forces carried out at least 20 high-impact operations in Jalisco between October 2024 and September 2026, the first 23 months of President Claudia Sheinbaum's administration. The source says the operations resulted in 77 arrests, including 44 people identified as alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
According to Noticias PV's count, which it says is based on official reports, the operations targeted safe houses, financial and regional operators, public officials accused of extortion, and international criminal networks. The source lists the reported killing of CJNG founder Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho,” during a February 2026 military operation in Tapalpa; the arrest of his brother Abraham Oseguera Cervantes, known as “Don Rodo”; and arrests tied to cocaine trafficking, synthetic-drug shipments, the faction of Sinaloa Cartel figure Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, and alleged public corruption.
The account also cites 20 arrests in a Guadalajara call-center operation targeting fraud, 21 arrests in Ojuelos after the seizure of weapons and tactical equipment, 1.5 tons of cocaine seized on the Jalisco coast, and more than 1.8 million tablets seized in a counterfeit-medicine network. Noticias PV says the 77-arrest breakdown excludes 38 arrests from two interstate operations that were not assigned by state, as well as the capture of Audias Flores Silva, known as “El Jardinero,” in neighboring Nayarit. The figures and allegations remain attributed to Noticias PV's review of official reports.
