Alleged Los Rusos member arrested in Mexicali
Mexican authorities said they arrested Victor Alfonso N, 26, in Mexicali and identified him as an alleged member of Los Rusos, a group linked to the Sinaloa Cartel. Officials said he had an aggravated-homicide arrest warrant and was allegedly linked to homicides, extortion, drug distribution, contract killings and threats against security personnel.

According to Omar Garcia Harfuch, Mexico's secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, the detainee had an arrest warrant for aggravated homicide and was allegedly linked through investigations to homicides, extortion, drug distribution, contract killings and threats against security personnel. Noroeste Seguridad reported that authorities also associated him with intimidation directed at members of security institutions.
The arrest followed investigation and intelligence work by the National Intelligence Center, carried out with federal and Baja California security agencies. Officials said they identified the suspect's area of movement, coordinated an operation in Mexicali and detained a person who matched the investigation's target after confirming his identity.
Authorities said the detainee was informed of his legal rights and placed at the disposal of the corresponding public prosecutor, who will determine his legal status. The allegations remain attributed to authorities, and the source does not report a conviction.
