The Story of Brenda Quevedo — Portrait of a Failed State
English transcript
PITAYA PITAYA PITAYA PITAYA PITAYA In 2005, Brenda Kvedokruz had only 24 years and a whole life ahead. She entered the science career of communication, she had managed to enter a multinational company in London and the Earth, and she already had her visa for the work of her dreams. With only two bags full of gifts, she traveled to Mexico City in 2004 to see her parents and siblings. She finished her education programs and returned to Europe to continue with a simple but full purpose life.
She had never imagined that she would be caught in one of the most violent and unjust and serious violations of human rights in Mexico, which meant the intervention of the UN and the International Ministry, along with Juan Ailda González, Jacobo Tagle, César Freire, as well as Alberto Itóni Castillo, was accused by Mrs. Isabel Miranda de Gualas of supposedly having kidnapped and murdered her son, Gualberto Gualas, when he was actually alive until at least in 2007. Presumably, he had voluntarily smoked because he had debts with Edgar Valdés Villarreal, Alasdabarbi, in those years a member of the cartel de Sinaloa.
Due to the infamous hunt of Isabel Miranda and her sequestries within the federal government, Brenda was arrested in 2007 and for 19 years, she has been under the trial of a crime that did not exist and has been a victim of brutal tortures to force her to confess a crime she did not commit. This is the story of Brenda Quevedo Cruz, a young man with dreams, a false homicide and a failed state that rewarded the victim and buried the true victims.
I am the head of investigation, Anavel Hernández, thank you for joining us in this episode 107 of Narcosistema. Just a few days ago, we just finished producing our first two years in the air and I really thank you very much for the loyalty that this audience has had. Thank you for following each episode, especially the subscribers of Patreon. Thank you very much for your support, and I remind you that this is the most direct and most effective way to support the independent investigation work that we do here, especially in a moment when the government intends to legalize the censorship.
I also want to take the opportunity to thank my dear audience for the interest they have shown in the release of my new book, Narcocracy, which will be released on August 24. The story is never told of how the Narcos conquered Mexico. In the books of school textbooks we have learned in Mexico how the wild and bloody conquest of the Spaniards was, how they achieved the fall of the Mexican Empire and the great Tito, and who were the ones who helped them.
Well, in the same way, at some point it will have to be imparted in schools in Mexico, lessons on how the Narcos managed to get out of our country. There must be a historical explanation of how we reached this point in which we are today, how during the 26 years of this century, the drug cartels swindled in our territory, in our nation, its empire. And when that story is told, it will be essential to know who they were, who sacrificed us and gave us these criminals, turning Mexico into a failed state.
Narcocracy is precisely that terrible story that power does not want you to know. Last week we talked about the murder of Carlos Manzo, the leader of the shadow movement and the mayor of Uruapa, Michoacán. We talked about how, precisely, homicides are part, it is clearly an example of that failed state, of that criminal system that has been powered by Mexico. Precisely after the publication of our episode, Marina's secretary issued a statement trying so much to deny the public information.
I have already seen a public response to this press release, but here I reiterate that in the information we publish, including that video, which is the most concerned by Marina's secretary, in which in official vehicles of the secretary of public security of Michoacán, presently travel members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. Well, I reiterate precisely that this information comes from sources of intelligence of Marina's secretary and who, just after this press bulletin, revealed to me that there was a kind of witch hunt inside the institution, trying to find out who had been my informant, which definitely confirms that the information is true.
Marina's secretary knows that this information comes from her sources of intelligence and well, as I said in my response, it was the information that obviously did not expect it to be published. And precisely following the theme of this failed state, of this narcocracy that produces terrible and infamous cases of injustice, is that this week we are going to deal with the case of the false homicide of Ubalberto Gualas and of all the victims of this case.
One of them, very particular, Brenda Quevedo-Cruz. According to Ubalberto's mother, a woman named Isabel Miranda, her son would have been kidnapped and murdered in July 2005 by a supposed gang of six members. The absurdity of this case is that Lady Isabel Miranda, instead of following all the evidence, all the documents, all the testimonies that indicated that her son was alive, preferred to make culprits to make it happen as dead. It was so that this woman assured that her son, supposedly procreated with his wife Enrique del Socorro Gualas, had been kidnapped and murdered in a small apartment located in Perugino No.
6, in La Colonia, Extremadura, Insurgentes. Supposedly, the perpetrators had cut into a tiny bathroom inside that small apartment, the body of Ubalberto, with a motorcycle, had put it in plastic bags and had thrown it in an unknown building. Thanks to the influences that Lady Gualas had within the Attorney General of Justice, through her brother, who was a police officer, immediately the authorities made a kind of revision to the supposed apartment where the kidnapping and homicide had occurred, without the authorities finding a hair or a drop of blood, or a small proof that this crime had been committed in that place, as Isabel Miranda said.
Despite that, Lady Gualas, in 2006, started a hunt for brutal, arbitrary witches, contrary to any norm of legality, putting the faces of the alleged perpetrators in a series of spectacular, huge sizes, in Mexico City, accusing these six people of supposedly having killed their son. I mean Juan Aylida González, to Jacobo Tagle, to Cesar Freire, to the Castillo brothers, and to Brenda Quevercos. Thanks to the influence that Lady Gualas had in the PGR, she managed to stop Juan Aylida González in January 2006.
After, according to her own testimonies, official documents of the case, Juan Aylida was subjected to a interrogation within the PGR, where she was a victim of psychological torture and where she even presumed to have been drugged so that she finally agreed to sign the confession of a crime that did not exist. It is after Juan Aylida's confession that when it begins, a hunt against the other responsible suspects, one of them Brenda Quevercos. Independent journalism is essential.

You will remember that being so strong, so mediocre, the figure of Mrs. Agualas, she was on all television channels, she was on all radio stations. No one questioned her about what really happened in the experiment. No one had taken the risk of taking the experiment and see if things really had happened as Mrs. Agualas was saying.
It caused even more, we were surprised that the authorities themselves totally saw the reason for Mrs. Agualas and even this was presented as a paladin of justice. It was precisely at this moment when Mrs. Agualas enjoyed total credibility that I met Brenda Quevedo Cruz through her mother in Riqueta Cruz. She was the one who looked for me in my office and with a lot of insistence argued that Brenda was innocent and that she was a victim of a rape.
Obviously it was a very complicated case. It was not easy to believe in the innocence of someone accused of being so serious. So what I asked Riqueta Cruz was to allow me to review the whole experiment to be able to make my criteria of what really happened. It was as if I could discover a series of inconsistencies of falsities, of arbitrariness, of inhuman acts perpetrated by the PGR against the alleged victims, against the victims and to make the case of a murder that did not exist.
It was as if I could discover that there were testimonies of people who knew Agualberto who pointed out that he was alive until at least 2005 or 2006. In other words, in July 2005 he had not been murdered as his mother claimed. There were even testimonies of the neighbors of the Perugino building that were, by the way, that due to the bad work of isolation on the walls of the departments, everyone was heard in the building.
There were even discussions, there were screams, there were parties in the departments. That was resonating in the entire building. That's how when they were questioned they would have heard that night of July 2005 the motocerra, let's say a motocerra, breaking bones and meat, they claimed that they never heard any noise. Some of the neighbors even claimed that they had stayed talking among themselves in the framework of the entry of their departments and they never saw people carrying garbage bags in the morning.
So, really, the PGR never had any evidence of credible evidence to be able to sustain their case. They only sustained themselves with declarations obtained under the torture of Juan Ailda González and then of other victims. Despite the fact that in the first inspection the authorities did not find anything in the supposed scene of the crime, we imagine that the crimes had occurred, as Mrs. Agualas said, because the walls were covered with blood, bones, particles of Walberto's body had appeared in some corner in some area of the department.
The authorities, I repeat, reviewed it minutely and did not even find a hair. Months later, Mrs. Agualas pressed the PGR to make a new inspection despite the fact that the department had not been saved by the trial of a crime, but had been opposed to the rent. The department rents it, then a employee of Mrs. Agualas is known and, of course, there is the PGR Months later, the supposed homicide returns to the department and finds a drop of blood that belonged to a procreated person, indeed, by Isabel Miranda and Enrique del Socorro Walas.
The problem is that, according to the blood test, this drop of blood belonged to a woman and not a man, so it could not be from Agualberto. Mrs. Agualas again pressed the PGR so that they would change that and judge this drop of blood, a drop of blood, supposedly to Agualberto Walas, which was false. These inconsistencies could reveal them in my book Mexico en Llamas, in 2012 and that same year, in a conference to which I was invited, as an opponent to the International Ministry of Mexico, could for the first time read in public one of the letters that Brenda Quevedo Cruz
had sent to her mother from a prison in Mexico. In that letter Quevedo Cruz narrated the sorrows suffered in the prison of Islas Marías in the hands of members of the Mexican State, torturing her, violating her in all ways imaginable, to force her to sign a confession. That extreme letter, at that time at the International Ministry and in public opinion, when many of the non-governmental organizations how many instances at the international level began to be interested in Brenda Quevedo Cruz's case.
Finally, in May of 2014, I published a report in the view of the process where I reveal an unedited information key that was completely dropping the case completely. And that defrauded the lies not only of Mrs. Isabel Miranda but of the Secretary of Public Security General García Luna who had been one of the main perpetrators of arbitrary detention against the responsible and what can reveal what can be found is that in reality, Ualberto Ualas, that son who had been procreated by Isabel Miranda and Mr.
Ualas had never existed. It was a fiction. Who existed was Ualberto Miranda Miranda who had been procreated by Jacinto Miranda and Isabel Miranda had been recorded in an act of birth and that was the true identity of Ualberto Ualas. Then I found another act of birth where Mr. Ualas recognized the paternity of Ualberto many years after his birth when he found marriage with Mrs. Ualas and here I found another fundamental data for that report. Isabel Miranda Ualas could not have married in 1968 and had procreated after Ualberto as Mrs.
Miranda, Isabel Miranda declared to the authorities because Mr. Ualas at that time was married. The story behind really Ualberto of his mother Isabel and Mr. Ualas is that Mrs. Isabel Miranda married to Mr. Ualas already had Ualberto when she met Mr. Ualas and Mr. Ualas was married then divorced and is when several years later he contract marriage. That is, the case Ualas was false from the beginning to the end. The victim, the alleged victim actually never existed.
The only evidence in which this case has been sustained is false. What does exist is a daughter who is alive half sister of Ualberto procreated between Isabel Miranda and Mr. Ualas. What happened? That Mrs. Ualas during that period that her employee was renting the apartment what she does is take blood samples and put them in the place and makes up that supposedly it was blood of her son, I repeat that is not possible Ualberto Ualas did not exist therefore he could not have been kidnapped or murdered in the dynamic that Mrs.
Isabel Miranda was saying for years with the support, with the complicity of the Secretary of State Federal General of García Luna and the General Attorney General of Justice. When in 2014 published that report I had a public debate with Mrs. Ualas in the program of Carmen Aristegui and threatened that she would denounce me for moral harm. She never did it. In 2019 thanks to the journal of another reporter is that the light comes out another very important data in the complicated case that is the testimony of Carlos Leon Miranda cousin brother of Isabel Miranda who confess that he is the only and true biological father
of Ualberto. This ends practically by burying the case of Ualas and by confirming all the falseness all the lie around that false kidnapping and homicide. Among all the accused the case of Brenda Quevedo Cruz caught the attention of the defense human rights international nationalities thanks to the commitment to the existence of his mother Enriqueta Cruz to achieve that society knew thanks to that I intervene the UN I intervene the international ministry I intervene the Federal Institute of Public Defense I intervene more recently the network of lawyers of Ignacio A and thanks to all that work that is born of the love of a mother
of a true mother of a true mother courage of a true mother who seeks justice which is precisely Enriqueta Cruz who finally in the year 2024 a judge determined to give domiciliary prison to Brenda Quevedo managed to get out of prison in 2025 the accused Juan Ainda is the Supreme Court of Justice declare order immediately put her in freedom given that all the tests in which the accusation was based were false or had been clearly manipulated and it is in this context that last August 3 I could visit to know for the first time each Brenda Quevedo in a domiciliary
where I was in domiciliary prison in the city of Mexico when she opened the door she found with her eyes crying because just a few days, a few hours she had found out that her father was in a very serious health state she had requested a judge to grant her permission to get out of the domiciliary prison and to be able to see him when his father was still, we said awake unfortunately again the negligence of the judicial power prevented Brenda to say hello or speak for the last time with her father when finally that permission was granted to her her father had already lost
the knowledge and at this moment she really is in a very, very serious health state finally after the visit I make to Brenda at the end of last week the judicial power determines that Brenda can continue her judicial process in freedom with one of the victims of Mrs. Isabel Miranda who is Brenda Quevedo Cruz who I really admire I think she is a survivor who has many things to say and has many things to teach us how to be human and how to survive adversity I imagine a dream when one speaks of hope suddenly it is an intangible thing I think we have all been
in situations of extreme pain of extreme anguish of extreme despair and suddenly that word faith, hope, when someone tells us it seems a absurd and intangible thing and I think the case that Brenda teaches us is precisely that hope and solitude and security in what one really is is what really takes you to that hope What a pleasure to see you Hello my love, as always Well precisely to be able to understand what it means for Brenda Quevedo Cruz to be able to walk the street and go out and meet a world that was lost precisely during 18 years we would have to go back
to a dramatic moment in your life which is when you are 7 you are always Brenda, what do you think? Yes, it was at the beginning of the year 2006 when they entered the house of my parents where my mother lived my brother and they entered with this pseudo-cateo I don't know at the beginning we didn't know what to look for well, when I found out about my aunt but they brought pictures of me, pictures of Jacobo apparently they wanted Jacobo and I was the girlfriend so they presented me I still wasn't sure what was the crime what was the order
of what crime they were investigating it was until the months that more because of the media tone that they started to replicate all the media on the radio and everything that we could give there better explanation of why this this investigation this witch hunt I can't tell you anything else and it started and well, it was because of the disappearance the disappearance of Mr. Ubalberto Wallace and the kidnapping I mean, it had been like a kidnapping and then it turned us by order of organized crime that came out like that in the cartels in the shows during all this time Mrs.
Ubalberto Wallace through media began to accuse you of a series of escalating you not only by implicating you but also by claiming as this one that actually was not committed but by disqualifying your whole person who is Brenda Quevedo Cruz in 2005 in July of 2005 let's not take a specific day but who was Brenda Quevedo Cruz what was she doing Brenda Quevedo Cruz and what will be the plans of life of Brenda in July of 2005 Yes, look, I had a year of having returned from London I was a young woman at that age I was 24 years old I had finished my career
my license and I went after I worked throughout the university daughter of family sister well, a girl within what is normal as a current I had the opportunity to finish my my license and I went to London to travel for just three months then I got a job visa then after almost two years in London I returned to Mexico at the beginning of 2004 How did you have that job visa that is not a simple thing in any where what is your plan what did you think I studied communication and public relations I applied with my curriculum to a transnational company and well, I applied
and won the visa to occupy this position and effectively you say it is very difficult and it made me a gain I already felt good at that age and open everything because I was very proud of myself I know that my parents were always proud of me and I came to Mexico with the plan to be here for a while to see what my title was because I did not title with the thesis to see my title to see my family I literally brought two bags of gifts and my plan was after returning a little bit like taking advantage of the sun
the beach to see the friends to see the family to return to me and now for a good time to occupy this visa as you say it was very difficult that was the plan of that young dreamer of that young man who still brought so many projects in the mind and I felt that he was as they say now breaking that he was doing it in life so young and how cool and all the admiration that this heavy motorcycle in our lives What happens in 2005 when is that when you return to London or what is what happens No, I did not return to London
I arrived here in Mexico and in the months I had an accident I bought a car I was like I said I'm going to leave it to my mom I came with my savings also like the plan to help to support my parents I was going well, thank God then I had an accident of car and that makes me I have to stop a little more for recovery the rehabilitation I had I say it was not so strong but I could not travel again I open my plane ticket again and in these months in these dances between friends and between things I know Quajacota Gledomin
which is one of the direct implications because they did it they were supposed to be from the beginning then this I found out later was that in this in this context of time was when I met him through a friend and we started to go out in this in this already all this happens I had no more than 8 months of having met him and your relationship with Jacobo a long-term relationship actually it was only momentarily it was only I was with the subject of my thesis to go out with friends to go to the club as a normal girl with my family
and to go out of dates they say like this they teach me the bikes and from there we went out to do dates from time to time and they started to do more frequent until we ended up as a boyfriend because it was not from the beginning I was not my plans to stay in Mexico that's why I did not take it for nothing typical that I think of that age of a woman, of a girl going out with friends a boyfriend but my plan was already my project having a more serious job and doing this life a little longer in London and you met
in this subject of bikes and this with Jacobo, Juana Hilda César Freire, Alberto yes no, not immediately to the only ones that I could relate after the brother of César Freire who was when I met Jacobo I met Jonathan Freire who was César's brother then I found out that he was my brother and I remember very well because you do not believe that it was just that group of friends it was like a group of cyclists and that they were going to the club they told him at that time to dance, to a bar, to the condo to eat, to coffee and so on
but it was a lot of people, it was like a big community and I remember having met César's brother when I met Jacobo and like the two or three weeks he talked to me and said, do you remember Jonathan and I did, the boy with whom I met him they killed him, he was very bad very surprised by the news he told me to come with me to El Belorio, look at César when my father died or Jacobo's father who was also a cyclist because he supported me a lot he helped me a lot moral support I remember that a lot because later
I'm not telling you what happened I think a month and a half a month and a week and they invite me to go to Chalma but we were going a lot on motorcycles like that because César wanted to give them thanks or something I was not very fond of these saints I did not know this church and I remember that we were many and there was when they take this famous photo that there after months they take it as if it were the test of a band of kidnappers when in that band there is a child, we are outside the church
that is, it was completely the context that they wanted to put it and in that photo the brothers come out or a boy called Gael Buscaanga and well I had barely known them there and the one I knew the most was this César César and Jacobo that was located César every exit suddenly that came to see it with another girl another girl, that is, it was not the group that we went every weekend, that is, suddenly and I remember this this damn photo sorry and did you know Juan Ailda?
Juan Ailda had already known her in some meeting I think once a lot before all this but it was we were not friends no, no, no, really we were not very close I mean, I met her I even remember that as a little like I did not fall very well in the meeting and I then I was a little bit like out of where she later understood that she had already left first with Jacobo and well, we are still there I mean, no, no, really it was not a friendship a relationship of friendship a relationship with all of them with friends, friends, friends
of Jacobo, rather it was the death of this boy that they joined to go to Belorio to go to Chalma you were in 2005 where did you live with your parents? in 2005, yes, I arrived to Mexico and well, yes, I was in my parents' house in a friend's house well, I had already come to be independent according to me, I already believed myself very independent and well, sometimes I stayed with some friends I went to Cancun for a while then I came back with my parents and a little bit the relationship with Jacobo began to formalize a little more and we rented a house
first we stayed from time to time in a apartment on top of his mother's house and then I found out that I did not like him very much because he was not Jewish, the mother is Jewish well, they are Jewish families and the mother was very orthodox so I thought, hey, let's go somewhere else because my mother does not seem to have much of a relationship well, we rented a apartment and it was more like young love, in case not to get married, not anything else what happens when when you see for the first time your face in these spectacular things that Mrs.
Agualas sent to do in this supposed house against the supposed kidnappers and murderers of her son what do you feel, what is your impression your impact when suddenly you are one of the accused look, since I I found out from this intramission, this catechus to the house of my parents from then on, a nightmare begins as first to understand what was going on I said, well, maybe Jacob saw something or knows something, they look for something and over time I mean, in a few weeks what we were talking about with lawyers who made us feel that the case was very strong
my mom was with this lawyer Aseido, my mom was mistreated they harassed her in all this we were going to find out a little more well, them, because they transmitted it to me but more of this as a literal harassment like this violence of the institution of Ciedo at that time of those who were in their heads and it was when they started in 2006 at the beginning of February 2006 they stopped Juan Ailda and from there the spectacles begin I mean, this wave of what happened and now that I mean, I was going to introduce because according to me it was an order presentation
the lawyer tells me, wait, we're going to put an amparo because apparently they had delivered one of the brothers with an amparo like this voluntarily, we found out that they had attacked him there in Aseparos de Ciedo and well all this makes my family and my lawyer let's see what it is about I mean, it was like what did you think of all this? you find out from the news what happened with this Hugo Alberto I met him did you see him in this group?
No, no, no, no I didn't know this man I mean, they say that once in a movie but I literally, if not, I don't remember seeing him, I never met him, I mean I don't really remember seeing him known but it's this feeling of not understanding at what time they are involving you in something and then seeing spectacles they are kidnappers, murderers they seek reward with the faces, the photos throughout the city well, I felt that the world I lost the floor under my feet I mean, I was I literally felt like under the water as if I didn't understand I wanted to introduce myself
they said no, I had to go to another house one of my aunts in all the news there was this story of first they were changing first they were then other people then it wasn't me anymore and then it wasn't me anymore she was a prostitute, I was a escort, she was a hooker then she also sold drugs I mean, it's like suddenly you enter a movie of science fiction and they make you believe that you are one of the main characters and at what point I only thought about my family, I mean, my mom because they had me away from her
until they ordered it because of the attorney's accessories and it's like the world destroyed you your projects, your normal life family with fear uncertainty this media pressure that was really it was another emotional torture to be seeing all that my family I found out they wanted to make this an explanation then I stopped seeing Jacob I still make a call that if he had something to say, please that they were that they had entered my parents' house that please he surrender if he knew something about what it was and he still remembers that he told me I mean, he didn't even understand I didn't understand
what it was I stopped talking to my aunt I didn't even talk to my daughter, please it was like it was a earthquake in my family apart from socially it was something that I had never seen because I also worked in news television and then I had to qualify material I had never seen something like that spectacular looking for people as if it were a witch hunt and with reward as in the old man with the photo, with the legends or presunt, or data it was already a a sentence it was horrible you stopped doing your normal life I don't know anymore
I changed my life I already changed my life they entered me when they took my papers obviously there I had my visa, my passport all my personal papers they took them, they took a computer now they took photos but they went especially for that and I didn't even live there and I had left my papers there for security, I guess it was from the beginning it was very strange in this earthquake that the family is scared because one never knows what to do in these cases everyone wants to blame everyone is afraid, but better yes but better not, better wait the lawyer wants something
the life from there started to be a nightmare for everyone and not understand what was the reason that I think was the most the most delicate and the most dangerous for me the what was who was that guy, what kidnapping what murder you go to the United States they arrest you with a detention order with extradition charges and finally in 2007 they send you to Mexico that's right in November of 2007 they arrest me in the United States and in September of 2009 they extradited me I fight there a thing called Javés Corpus which is when one denounces that he fears for his integrity
or for his life or something in a federal court that's what I exposed we sent, we were able to open a trial we sent, we brought to several witnesses between them San Bartereviño who was one of the lawyers who knew how he had a lot of data the investigations were legal there was really nothing with what he was asking for extradition this takes me almost a year and a half so that in the end they would lose her they moved a lot of threads around here in Mexico with the embassy with the Secretary of Foreign Relations and lastly he also made a comment
that it was very expensive to bring me here it was because it was going to cost expensive, because it was going to cost money and well I lost her, I came here because they were already investigating the issue of what did not coincide with the data they had of evidence here in Mexico you get to Mexico and what is what happens well when I get to Mexico I came to start in a plane that they make the transfer that they tell from Chicago to the Mexican authorities and well I was scared to death in the plane several people came from Ciedo
then I found out that they were directors of Ciedo because they also presented themselves and they came to me asking things that if I believed in God that because a lady a mother had suffered a lot I told her about some photos and well they always asked me I I thought they were going to do something to threaten Alhuino finally they got tired and when I arrived to Langar we arrived to Terrizamos I asked a lady who had been identified as a defender, as human rights of the FGR in that time and I told her that I was afraid because at this time
they had already attacked my brother because they also attacked him they raised the denunciation of my family so I already knew about this and well it was very much the same my mother in those times with my father and all the family started to get I was also in the United States but denunctions to human rights amparoes and they told them to explain that I had not been that it was treated that they were making use of individuals and for example of the spectaculars things that they followed they intervened they intervened on the phones things like that, many as denunctions and complaints in human rights
then my brother one day he was 18 years old he goes out with his suitcase in a little street near the house it is said that they close a dark truck and that several people get off and they start and they start to to hit but it was not like an assault but they grabbed his cell phone they threw him on the floor they grabbed his backpack I mean, it was not an assault it was a crazy truck they hit him with the code with the buttons the message was the message was tell your mother that you get off of eggs and stop denouncing this
obviously turns on the alerts of my family and they go fast to make a denouce and this thanks to this I was able to get an asylum in another country but that was parallel so when I arrived I knew about this aggression I knew about how my mother had treated my mother in jail how they were threatening the family and it was part of the argument that we have there in the United States I told this lady of the plane that please do not face this lady that was behind all this because I was afraid I also had the shame of my brother
I told him I was going to see media no, no one was going to see no one was going to know when I arrived I opened the door full of flashes and I remember that I managed to see in one of the offices of the hangar because it was dark the figure of this lady they spent hours doing what they do all the time they were in human rights they took pictures of me that if they hurt me they left they caught my things to take me to the parking to go and they took me to a joint room where this lady was Mr.
Isabel and the I don't know if it was the sister or the daughter of a lady outside in the plane they were sitting there in that table as well when I see that I tell the commander hey commander please I don't want to be here you know that there was already an ambulance an order so that I don't make a statement that was not in front of the judge of course I had to take immediately to the public ministry Brenda what happens in this place in the airport you just arrived I was telling you that I arrived from the landing of this plane
and well the first thing that happens after they do all the administrative I go to this office with you when there was no one but the same people who came in the plane and all these people who came in the plane and all these people who were working in the blind they were together with the lady sitting there and there was another woman outside I never knew what relationship I had with her and I started to scream that I was a cynic that was a that still I was laughing I say hey look I don't know why they have me here
I just want them to take me with a judge to make my declaration I didn't want to sit down and the commander who brought me told me sit down you're just going to ask some questions then I feel and she begins to tell me that I wanted to make a deal like the one I had done with Juan Ailda I gave her a deal with you I remember that still in that time I still had this personality of trying to defend me of trying to when you think you're doing the right thing and that justice or law are going to stop you
and knew that this was outside of what I had ordered you say you know what lady I don't want to talk to you I have nothing to do with you you know perfectly that I have nothing to see don't be a cynic you're a friend and you're going to see for me you're going to stay 100 years I tell you with the evidence you know that I don't have anything to do with the evidence that is in the trial and you're going to remember me you don't even know who you're messing with you're going to remember me in that I stopped
and I did it like that with my hand in the face I didn't want to talk about anything anymore I thought they were going to return it lasted a few minutes it wasn't big I think that here I have incapacitated so many years I feel that I went from being like a little girl like the one who wanted to work in the band there is something uncomfortable there is someone with whom I take it personally after this more than my family was the one who was always putting demands putting complaints, asking for help so I see it that's my opinion let's make this stone uncomfortable
in the shoes of these people and there it changes the narrative they take me to Santa Marta I had to be in Santa Marta and not in another in another prison it is supposed to be an announcement we were waiting for hours in Santa Marta but I tell you this because also already reasoning at that time in the city of Mexico at that time of Efe was ruled by the dog yes they don't leave me there they take me to Santiago because it is supposed that there Santa Marta was full of complaints when it is without anything I think I would have done it
there it was strange they take me, ask for a authorization they take me to Almoloya de Juarez there if it was a panist and there yes in the month that I arrived there they raise me to an audience I had an audience they told me first they told me that I was going to an audience with the director a Friday at night and I tell them an audience with the director to an audience to the judges to the judges at night and to me it was strange because at that time I had contact with Ambar who was seeing if he took the case
he was going to represent me so he had not told me anything and I was still very rigid there and this is safe it is that you know that in my case it is very difficult there is a person who has not threatened us I speak everything and when I get there I start to see that they are passing me on the other side where the interns did not pass I start to see the lockers of the officers and I tell them why not and I was pulling the auction and in that I see two people wearing a suit with mountain passes
they take me to a room and I start to scream who was it what did you think at that moment? no, it is a fear to start it is a fear to understand or rather not to understand that they are people who are supposed to be taken care of you are under your care you are supposed to be in an area of the government that protects you, takes care of the police the public servants the courts of the penalties and that they enter the simple fact of seeing them and I say what are you going to do?
what are you going to do? what are you going to do? I remember that he pulled me like that with custody and I told him no, boss, please help me help me and so they caught me and they put me in this lady obviously they all had knowledge then I found out that this custody was a family of the security director I mean, I found out that later and well these two people who later saw a third with a suit with a mountain pass they sit down they start to pull my hair I ask them because who are you?
why are you helping me? let's see, they started to hit me they pulled my hair they married me they brought some bags the other was like taking things out of a suitcase I reached out to see like a recorder and plumes and blueprints they brought like a syringe with a red liquid and things in what they were selling to me and I just felt that suddenly they put me in the bags I mean, you're going to tell me right now, your daughter, well, and all her Floridian language that they occupy and what they asked me I mean, they were hours they were hours
what they asked me was where is Baja Cobo later they told me that they were going to take me out to see how how they killed my parents as dogs and so on sorry, here is my mom but I'm not going to get in again but here I was prostitute, disgusting, I don't know you're going to see your brother telling me about the family what do you want, what do you want, what do you want me to tell you now you're going to you're going to tell me that you're going to tell me this that you're going to tell me my declaration
this that makes me think I mean, not to get into details details that the truth is very painful everything that they did to me they weren't custodians of the jail with this authority to be able to take a self-incrimination declaration rather it must be a minister this event happens there were already some kind of document written so that you could sign it I never saw it, I never wanted to sign it I mean, they threw me with the bag I didn't feel that the elbows the knees I made balls on the floor I was going to faint you're going to sign it
yes, yes, yes, they sent me back to sit from my hair, I finished with balls on the hair, it's a good one how many are there? I just completed 27 and well blows, touches I was hurt I don't know, there's a moment when your body starts to be like this, right? and the theme was to sign since they were going to sit on my seat so you're going to tell us and you're going to sign what you want to know, where he was he wasn't stopped I think it was no, I've been more than two years I didn't have any contact with him
so it was this theme and after I was going to sign my declaration they didn't tell me the story they asked me where he was and that I signed when they sent me back to sit I was going to sign and I I didn't do anything, I was going to grab the air again I was going to blame others and I was going to blame myself but I said how am I going to blame myself for something I didn't do?
why? so again I was going to grab the air again and I didn't have anything to do with it and again and again I repeated this I calculated it for about three or four hours all this they told me not to scream that everyone already knew that they had me there and they brought some gloves like this on top of the bag they put me like this with the gloves each time I screamed so I said then I scream more because they're covering me and I didn't hear I was going to scream it's ugly to remember again but then I also knew that my screams
or these sounds that they made like these these screams were next to the baronil dormitory the boys were already there it was night and they had them closed they heard the screams and in the round of the custodians who apparently didn't know anything they said to the boss if I heard a woman screaming what's going on the state prisons environment is very much about doing motins and like not allowing this sorry this abuse of authority of the same custodians so they started to change because there were screams this custodian I have it in my denunciations I have it in everything I have presented
he goes and speaks to the security director and says hey what's going on there there are many screams of a woman in these oral courts you don't get it they have an audience twice like that until he said no I mean this is also going to be they are going to rape me and if they are something because there is that in this type of insertion centers then this man grabs his group of the custodian that night and it was when I was told that they were going to take me out they were going to take me out of the center
and I see that they open the doors because in the last one they hear a man wearing a suit because they already brought the sale to here and they pulled my hair and I see that the third man comes in and behind him there were already many people in me who didn't look well I said they are going to take me out and they are going to take me out and I said no yes I signed I'm going to sign and they put the sheet and I said one of them who always hit me he hit me he saw a blue ball watch and
when he starts to take everything and I had seen the statue the shape of the eyes if this is not moreno this happens they go they get in between I saw that they were custodians they say that I had passed and they say no more they didn't even speak that they were crying and they said wait I remember that an officer was recording with a cell phone that later I asked him and no one wanted to get in but they told me that that night the head of the penal was calling them so they wouldn't I want to think that they didn't know
but on the other day they made a stop these same custodians who entered the other service you can investigate it and I give you the names of the people that I reported in that time and that they covered all this information did you know who were these people who entered with suitcases and passed mountains? that's what I was going to tell you during the month of this my family my dad when he saw me all bad the other day it was the visit he saw me all bad they were going to make their complaints as always to make their complaints that bothered
the other side with all this and during the month I was crazy nothing happened and that I would offer proof you know how it is here that kind of I had the I got the part of the news of that day that they took me out that time when I came back nothing worked during the month I went to an audience and this person arrives the lady is during the month or two months it was an audience that I had next to that and they arrived with MPS and I recognized that man when he started talking and he saw the watch
and I told the judge I was behind the practice region in Toluca I started to get all bad my family was present because I was still in Toluca it was possible and I said calm down right now we asked for a word no no no I recognized that and I saw his eyes I said and the watch I said to him I got a report and they did this and that the judge pointed it out I didn't want to point it out they told me I was crazy almost the lady I remember this man and I told him please don't get close I'm denouncing him
he was one of the people who hit me the lady said get close and laugh this is my mother this audience is written it was only 20 years of this kind of practice in which we were in front of a state completely naive to the prosecution of justice to receive a report from other people who were against these interests or this story or this narrative it has been a witness because I think you have followed this case you met my mother your own voice, you commented all this from other families who can hear your voice after this they took me to Islas Marías
and it was the second worst torture it was horrible why? because we denounced because we complained I mean, in Islas Marías when they took me to a black house of the navy and they entered again I saw them again there they take away the desire to complain they take away security, they humiliate you what was the torture what are you afraid of I remember that I talked to my mother until I could talk to her I told her please mom, don't complain don't denounce if these people are going to enter again they told me because the second time I already told them
if they want to sign whatever they want whatever they call me whatever they want me to do I already did no now I was presented to a judge by my mothers to complain to human rights what happened to Islas Marías? what happened to Islas Marías? this they take me to this prison to my son in a plane there they could not I want to think, as they could not return for that famous self-incrimination they take me out of the prison and they take me to Islas Marías October 10 2010 and they take me to a plane I want to clarify that I was processed
well, I am even processed 20 years later I was processed and Islas Marías were for people sentenced so when I see that I am coming out on a plane from the state of Mexico I said now where I go that level of terror when I pass Islas Marías and I said what do I come to do here they take me to this they make a supposed prison I took 3-4 days to get to Islas they were super angry they took me to a sentenced camp when I had to be processed I was processed and I was going to find the law
I had to be in an observation camp and classification but as I was under Islas Marías I was interviewed by the director with the security director I want to repeat this because everyone knew well, I do not know if everyone but the heads of directors they knew they received me they asked me if I met someone on Islas I told them that Juana Hilda she was already sentenced that's why they made me weird I said but I am processed because there are no judges on Islas that's why they only took sentenced I said I am processed let's see who do you know on Islas?
I told them that it was my cause Juana Hilda, Gonzalo and Lomelila they brought her I said I am processed now quiet they made a call and they took me to a sentenced camp because in COC where I had to be for having arrived there Juana Hilda they make a pseudo-cateo three days ago they told me that they had found the same officers the one who received me in the hangar the one who made that cateo with the security director they were always the same and as they had found some pills and I did not sleep I am arriving they checked me
I do not have any belonging uniform you go to the drunk the drunk was the punishment area that was now where I am now what happened? they took me in the morning two or three hours and the security director with these two officers in his truck they climb some marines with tables and chairs and they take me around the island to an area where I already saw the little of the of the internos and they take me 45 minutes surrounding the island that smell went out and I remember that he grabbed his hand because I was among the two officers and the commander said
do not leave me alone please do not leave me alone what a silence and well they take me to this I just got to see that we arrived to an area where there was a crane a house without light in black work and there they leave me the rest of the night I remember that the doors were not like that, they were in black work in black work they did not have windows they were covered with with tables and in the morning of the next day they still take the officers I already saw the truck because I heard open the eyes to cry and say
where I am who is going to help me because I am here it was a terror to see that is that they do not reach me the words to tell you how you feel so vulnerable there being when they are supposed to take care of you you are in a process you are in an investigation in a field whatever they want and nothing happens that is what I have always been very brave and all these people that I knew and well they arrive at the hours a black van because I managed to zoom in when I heard the noise of the vehicle
it was a van like that of airports with polarised videos and it still gets into a house takes an officer and says I sit down and it was the one I saw I counted up to six men with jeans everything has jeans black shoes like that of clothing and these blouses like rice that like that kind of jeans as well as interiors and the mountain passes and I remember that I told him no, please, no, no, no not again, please one now if you already fucked up your mother even if you scream no one will hear you so you think there was some of them
they were the same of course, there were more the other time there were three or I don't know how many because I managed to count six they sold me, they took my clothes they wrapped me in a blanket and I have narrated it many times and it has been the most personal in this in these years of prison the most horrible thing that I have had to live and that I don't think it is no fair cause their investigations their questions to the margin of the law which is torture rape and they were hours and hours and hours
they would tell me everything, they would lie to me to my mother, to my family psychological terror the blows, the abuse I remember that I was all wet and they told me they left me there they took me away, they left and they didn't turn around I didn't feel my body anymore I felt all wet I couldn't see any blood I mean, I said I want to die in one of the windows windows it was day and there was the sea and I remember that I was covered with tables and the sea was covered with a stone when years later I make this narration
the one that is realized by that stone is Ricardo Rafael and that stone was on the side of the sea I mean, I couldn't as I did that narration so many years ago without even knowing what was that it was on the side of the sea and no one from the interiors knew from that side of the island I did that narration because of all of us, no matter how many tests no one takes them into account and I remember this as a woman, because I think it's quite sad, apart from all the people who you know, they did it they did it actively
but I remember when they entered I mean, I saw this this rock and I saw the sea and I was very close to this house I was like I want to die I mean, I don't support this anymore I'm going to die just thinking about my mom my dad, my brother and I remember that there was a bit of blood and I put it in my trip that brought so that someone would know that someone had already been there and the two officers came in and I turned them around to see them and I was like I fell again in what I was thinking
and they tell me what happened to you and I tell them you know that I not all the thicknesses that I knew I told them that what a mother that they were women they took me and they knew what happened to me and I was like in shock sit down, we they told us that they were your lawyers that's what one told me so I they left me and sit down for a while I was there for a couple of hours more I didn't feel the ship I didn't feel the body they started to cool the pain it was horrible the heat the sweat
everything that just happened then they come back they were still punished because they were punished by the pills and they don't let me talk on the phone and they isolate me in a beauty camp that was called public servants because it was processed now if it was processed it had to be alone and well this that allows not to talk well I didn't tell my family it was for a boy that I saw when I went out to grab because there are pills there is no water there was no drainage I don't know if now but they were pills then I went to the bathroom
it was a house to see the command and there was an officer 24x7 there with me I could only get out by the water to take him to the bathroom when I go out by the water I see all the steps to contextualize I couldn't talk to anyone or say anything and that was the order that was in that closed bed what kind of medical attention did you see? No, I was the first one I remember when I got off I told the commander I went up to the bed I was barely able to go up to the bed
I was very tall, I told him please take me to a doctor silence we checked it they leave me in that compartment I received an officer I told him please I was reporting reporting so they took me to a doctor it took more than three weeks in which they could get me out and the order was that I couldn't tell the doctor anything I was with me an officer it was it was horrible the commander who received me in that camp was very happy and he told me because when he saw me he said you know what?
they went through the lists he told the officer that he received the certificate and she said no she certified him because they went through the lists and they made an expression like they're going to want us to go through the lists so badly he saw you I couldn't what if he doesn't survive something like that yes, he saw me very badly and he told the officer not me well it's I'm sorry and you were certified no, no, no they never allowed me but he saw a gynecologist when I went he said it hurt me he brought implants after years at the ship
they were able to make a mastography they broke the implants and years I didn't know I was in balls and he said it hurts and I don't know what it is this is aesthetic, we're not going to never be able to attend they never allowed me to attend years when all this happens they introduced me to a horrible fist they bleed me he never attended a gynecologist he was a general doctor when he was able to go and I couldn't explain I couldn't tell him more these days they still take me with the director how do you say it because they were going to make
a good audience because of the pills and when I went in I saw the director and according to the technical advice it was her and another boy and I was still stupid director, how good I need to say something this is what happened and I started to explain and she said we're going to talk about the pills that lady was called Maria Teresa Aboites I remember I said I even hurt my stomach when I'm going to leave and they told me if you don't make your declaration that you're going to ask to go to the judge and to sign your declaration for your mom's complaints
and your mom and I don't know how much they deserve these are sorry to interrupt you these people when they go and it happens all these things Maria's they spoke in the name of Isabel Miranda they told you something about why they were there who called them to go why they had taken this decision because I imagine not that anyone can get there walking there, Maria's you don't have to move helicopter you have to move to get there there was a sign when all this was happening no, the sign I think we had it since always since having taken me there that's simply
that's one of the things I've asked for in the complaints what was the reason for my transfer Maria's if it's because of law that I couldn't be there because it was sentenced these are the things that if they were in light that if they were very bad because the rest, apart from that they hide it in Annabelle as one can I mean, we asked for the vittacores there were no cameras I mean, apart from that one has to give the tests and if you don't give almost a video what they are doing to you no, it's crazy I think and after this
the award of human rights that's exactly where it was going do you think that this woman had something to do with this torture that she suffered? they told me things like you already know who we came from you got in with the wrong people at some point they told me you know why you are in this because we are here because of the kidnapping and they gave me in one of those I remember like a hat or even I thought they had broken my ear the lord uberto so I didn't understand I mean, what they wanted I mean, after that
they repeated the story I had I mean, when I was going to ask for my declaration and it was this story that all of you are waiting for Juan Ailda's department and we cut it and we went to throw it in the black waters and so that was the story that they wanted me to do and that we were all guilty that was the story that basically they told me that we have to say but you didn't sign no, I already signed after all this, I already told them I sign, I already signed I already signed I already signed ah, no now for your complaints
you are going to ask voluntarily to make this declaration and if not, we are going to go back and you have already seen the power we have, right? and if you don't make this declaration you don't leave the island those were the words that they told me I already told you when I am in this I mean I couldn't make cards, I couldn't make calls because I was almost out of those pills that I had found so I leave where I was talking to you that I was taking water and I see a boy an intern from beige that made me weird because that was
like a camp of public servants I knew who that boy was and hopefully one day you can know who he was to thank him because he turned around and I saw about 5 or 7 meters because the houses were like like a little town and he turned around, I saw him because he surprised me and he told me, hey, hey, are you okay boy, are you okay? and I said, no, don't talk to me because they are going to lock me up and now I'm going to be punished and they locked me up, they locked me up they locked me up they locked me up
and I said what do you need what do you need, I can help you but from far away, I don't know I do a call to my house, please call my house, please do you see that land? it says your number and your name I don't know I never knew it I waited for the officer to enter the bathroom to grab a sheet I had a pen there and I started that letter that I started to edit out of help, please again they did that to me help me, that letter is in the defuse and it is on the internet and I put the address
and the name sorry, the phone of my family that was my grandmother's house after a long time I found out that he made that call that call in those times it was every 13 days, 10 minutes it was gold for anyone I want to thank that man who made me the favor of talking to my house and it was because of that letter that his name came because after months I never got there but the one I made that did not come out to my name and thanks to that it was one of the main clues so that my family put an amparo against
intimidation, torture and communication and that's why I was able to get out of there in 2010 just a few months after this brutal situation that you suffered in 100 in 2010 the president gave the award to Isabel Miranda of the rights what do you think of this? I did not even know we did not have a TV after 5 months they took us to various to Tepec Nayarit which was the first federal criminal annexed and we did not have a TV, we did not have a radio we were completely isolated after they told me after so much time
so many years of being under the process what is your explanation of why Mrs. Agualas was able to do everything he did not only respect you but also the other responsible what was actually a false kidnapping of his son a criminal fact that never happened would it be very risky to say that I know or well it would be a very personal opinion I'm not sure to have it because I think you more than anyone you have seen how many aristas this case suddenly has hypotheses people and not just one that they begin to leave testimonies that if they saw it alive or not
well until a certain time I know and from there I can give you my experience and I know that it is real when I am in the United States when they are asking my extradition to the government of Mexico ask for the criminal precedents of the two people we are talking about that would be me and this Mr. Hugo Alberto Agualas the Mexican state responds there are no criminal precedents this later we know that it was a lie that yes or there are criminal precedents of Hugo Alberto and from there I think would start as a Florida option of why from there lie
because what is behind that has not been wanted to take out the light I do not know if it is I would not dare to say something but that does not matter to me that does not matter to me because a government has to lie for a person not the family, not the defense not the government then that I just left there because I do not I also get into there but I think since then I caused this worry this security of why a person can have so much power influence for the same government to lie for you or lie for someone and well
then I hope there are many indications and stay in some day we know well what is behind all this if you live, if you do not live, if you die what I can assure you is that I was not this kidnapping because there are several people that there are many indications that this person was alive or communicated with him at least until 2007 there are clear testimonial physical evidence that he was communicating when in 2024 finally your your continuous prison that finally leaves of all this chain of abuse, of negligence and what happens to your head?
in 2024 when I leave the first of the prison look, it was a moment that obviously I think anyone idealizes being in prison until you get out of there but also I felt a lot of fear and sometimes sometimes fear suddenly follows the attack on me because well I do not know how great is the power, the anger revenge or what is this case that can repercute me, as it already repercuted me twice because I was uncomfortable, because I wanted defend myself, because I wanted to report sometimes I felt happiness, I felt pleasure to get out of prison, but this new environment of fear came
and if something happens to me and if they do something to me, and if they did it to me and if they arrive then it was like as strange, but well out of that fear that suddenly I was embarrassed, because I felt a lot of happiness I felt that even after so many years the hope of a light, of a justice that although the case has not ended because the judges also there are some that I think are still the correct procuration of the justice of what the law says and that no one can be, for example in preventive prison for so many years
because it is something punitive or that no one can be with the same way to cause two years because it is no longer in the same contexts because that's how the law is marked and not because they are favors because they are things then it gives me sometimes the hope that we still have a state of law, maybe in some with some judges, with some judges or something of all it is said, it is said easy I say in quotes of course 19 years 18 years of your freedom of all the things that you humanly lost in all this time for you that I imagine
throughout all this time this is the moment the reflection can say what you were asking all those years you participated important things I imagine for you that is the most valuable thing that you lost the time Vanabele the time as well Vanabele did not forgive anyone it does not matter who it does not matter the time is taken now I see my father like this posted in that bed and how many years I lost a talk of going to walk with him or Christmas, his birthday mine lose that, lose health personally, well, apart from the economic to the last
as my grandmother would say the bad are to remedy the goods I say sorry the goods are to remedy the bad you also know that sometimes as a woman time also weighs a lot for example in projects like the maternity that also who knows if it will have or why the time is on top who recovers it with all the complaints reparations are things that do not have price and we will never recover them could maybe one day have work could maybe if I want to study but this what I tell you moments in family personal projects like maternity there is nothing that
I can return that hurts me, that is one of the things that I feel that I have lost and that it will be very complicated that I recover just a few days just finished the judicial power that you no longer have to do this pressure on my salary that can follow your process of freedom What does that mean for you? Well, in my personal point of view means to be able to help my family that they have helped me so much to be able to take care of my father to see what I can most attend to my mother a re-indication
a little to my point of view everything that has taken me but also I think the belief in this what I tell you in justice I mean, again I start to think that there could be equity in this process because for many years I was raped by all the principles of presumption of innocence of a due process of torture it seemed that until when I comment the scale and I want to shut up and I can not say it in the judges when I was raped so many, so many things and this resolution that was not a favor that was not something out of
what the law is I feel that again we start to maybe be in a partner field so that we have a correct process that is free mainly for those who execute the justice of the judges the MPS and all that gives me more credibility that leaves me I think it can still be believed in the institutions in the judges, in the opinions and in the criteria that are in the law no, nothing was given here, nothing was given so that makes me think it makes me believe that it can still be done so maybe trust in our systems what was the first thing you did
when you were given your process of freedom well, I saw the press conference so this was the first thing you did you go out on the street for the first time literally after so many years what did you do? look, in the immediate when the audience ended it lasted only 12 hours I went out and some friends came they touched the timbre I was afraid to get close to the door because the device could send false alerts and sometimes they took me to the timbre where they were going to send me back so I went out to the gate and I opened the door
that was so immediate that I told myself I can get close to the door the next day or the next hours because we didn't sleep we could take a taxi I mean, now if I take it my mom we went to the castle of Chapultepec because I wanted to see the trees the nature that I spent so many years in gray places full of cement full of things to see the castle well, I loved everything the subway I even enjoyed the subway it's a return to be born one doesn't know the joy we have when it's life, health freedom when one loses it
now if you value it it's like being a child and that everything fills you with happiness that you smile at everything and I see it as starting a new opportunity what dreams do you have? what plans do you have? what do you want to do? well, first I tell you this to support my family to look for a job to be more independent and to give them this security that we've always been doing we do it now how do we pay how do we eat this, to attend the health issues of my parents my parents to see my brother maybe in the first place
to go to the beach I have a lot of desire to feel the breeze of the sea but for good and not with that breeze of the sea that caused me so much so much pain and so much despair that's it how how did you resist, Brenda? how did you resist all these years? I think that any in your situation being innocent knowing about a crime that was not even committed being a victim of all the arbitrariness abuses also some of your torturers and some of these people accomplices of your torturers have been judged or are in prison or are still there as public officials
what has happened to these people? well, until I have some that we know that they are very active as if nothing that's what I was telling you that it's sad because the torture is also one of the most more punished and more delicate in the catalog because they do not prescribe they do not prescribe it should be an official investigation and apparently the weight is not given even with the gravity of the crime it gives me sadness because when one goes through and when there are more servitors or in places where it is very difficult that you try if you are already difficult inside
it is even worse it gives me sadness because sometimes in some audiences that I have commented on the torture they even shut me up that is, I cannot talk about it or something that does not touch something that should not be talked about when the law says that any public servant who is in knowledge of a torture crime has to investigate them or open an investigation but hey, at one hour they do not let you talk about this in the audience of the media I commented on the mess that I have about the torture and not just because I said it because there are peritages
of human rights because it is the group of labor of the UN because I have evidence that physically, mentally, emotionally I have many, many problems because of all this we are not talking about that here or as if it were a thing taken out of, I do not know and that sometimes gives me a lot of courage but hey, they are things that are not new to me sometimes I feel ugly that sometimes they ask for justice or they ask for equity and things that have been asked for so many years but hey, that is one of the things
that if it bothers me, it hurts I feel like it is very difficult to try torture even when you almost have to present all the tests in favor there are never cameras, there are never records they are it is a system that is with public servants that cover their backs, some to others or that it is not convenient sometimes, I do not know to talk about that because there is sure they want money, there is sure they want I mean, they tell them that it is innocent that is that part, I mean I never even come to confess, that does not
even help me in my process because I do not even come to confess that it seems that it is this it is uncomfortable that you speak of the torture it is uncomfortable that you speak that you were having a severe depression in this isolation again because one of the strongest tortures that I lived was the isolation this part of the violations and the physical torture the isolation, I think that mentally is the hardest thing that has happened when you do not even know if it is day or night you are in a cell 24x7 you do not talk to anyone, you do not know
nothing, it is a horrible mentally that that leaves you so much damage now that I was in this little department because this isolation again suddenly I began to generate depression, anxiety I mean more than normal more than anyone because a human should not be to begin or in a lock-up but I commented and it seemed that it bothered them I mean, they did not even let me talk about the torture Juana Hilda, if you already you already have a problem with this because it is assumed that in your case they are the most evidence, the same quality
of evidence, the most evidence in the case of Juana Hilda that in the case of all the others at least regarding the case of Hugo Alberto Wallace it should be absolute it should be at least a resolution similar to that of Juana Hilda when do you expect this to happen? that is what worries me that is what worries me because as I tell you in Mexico all the cases are all less soon and expedite the justice, so talking to the lawyers and they tell me that if we go for the normal the normal path of the process and as well as the counterfeit
appeal, I stop to say that what they want is to slow this down because it would be years, it would be still years what they do explain to me is that there are other options having this criteria of the Supreme Court of Justice that as we know it is the maximum court in Mexico I mean, there is no way to say that we we pay it or that we favor it it is a autonomous court that did this study and decimated all the evidence and at the same time it would do something that is called a reflection that would obviously benefit us
those of us who have the same investigations and the same evidence there are some, well those are already techniques of the lawyers but well, some things that would be raised such as questioning, like data defilement that are being explored as a strategy what would be the fastest? because right now the judge, for example could not solve his criteria, the one that was suspended Rick Mondragon did not want to close us because there were appeals or there were excuses well, of course, this case has been 20 years so at some point the magistrates that are now knowing at some point they knew the case
then the law says that they can no longer solve, then they have to excuse then that takes like 3-4 months another magistrate tells him well, it is unfounded, you have to know another 4-5 months the other party says I disagree because it affects my legal sphere another 4-5 and so you go we have like 12 of those when are we going to end? incredible this system of justice it is really indignant exactly, as I think the most important question in reality and the answer for me is important I think it will be the most important for the audience of the narcosystem is
what kept you on foot? what kept you alive? because I imagine that many times when you looked at that window that you thought I want to die and I imagine that there have been other moments but what kept you alive? what keeps you on foot? today we are fine when they remove you everything, I think the only thing that remains there they take you so far from the family friends, lawyers and everything I started doing exercises to talk to you about something I am a believer but I had never been like a spiritual or anything of these things when I have these thoughts
of killing myself in my despair in my sadness, frustration I used to listen to my mom sometimes in the calls so distant that they used to touch us for 15 days and I went with a force so I asked her to be that divinity to give me that strength so I don't give another pain to my mother another pain to my family and they used to touch me and even though I was crying I told them I am fine I want to do it so I think love the spirituality the feeling that something tells you that everything is fine and maybe that is the other
meditations, for me it is God for me it is what I believe they make you strong inside you and that strength and another of the things that I have always been like this I laugh I already cried and it makes a joke with someone, with me look at me, look at me looking for to change my mind not bad but something that made me remember something I think it was one of the resources that helped me a lot the attitude of suddenly I already cried I got angry look, we are in the castle of the princesses because they said we did nothing that everyone did
so making jokes like knowing that we still live and find a reason it makes me read it makes me write, it makes me exercise I said well, this day I will never come back so I will take advantage of it and something like that or something I remembered and I do not know, they were my resources and that is not the death of the basic family thank you very much really, I hope you find you can fulfill the dreams that you left behind because it is never too late to start thank you very much Annelia you know that I admire you as a woman
and I send you a big hug and thank you for letting me tell this story to investigate the case of the false homicide of Huberto Wallace and to document the innocence of Brenda Quevedo Cruz and the others accused it is one of the most complicated cases that has touched me throughout my career in a country full of violence in a country full of victims our forced disappearance of homicides to open the possibility that a person has been falsely accused of such a serious crime is difficult but I think part of the work of a journalist is precisely that giving voice to the victims even when
the whole state says they are guilty for me giving voice to Brenda Quevedo Cruz they listen directly of their own voice, their own history that they can perceive the dreams they have lost that they can perceive and maybe feel part of the pain she felt in those terrible hours in Islas Marías when she looked at the window thinking that would be the last day of her life to be able to hear the voice of Brenda Quevedo Cruz is to be able to hear the voice of many other innocent victims of this failed state I really hope that in the next few days
finally the judicial power listens to Brenda Quevedo Cruz's defense and determines her absolute freedom the end of her process absolving her for a crime that did not exist as well as they did with Juan Aelida and if there was any kind of congruence of the judicial power this same failure for Juan Alas should also benefit to Jacobo Tagli to Cesar Freire and to the Castillo brothers see you in the next episode
