In a recent surge of cartel violence, a video response from the Mayito Flaco faction has ignited tensions, challenging rival group led by Iván Archivaldo Guzmán, known as “El Chapito,” to cease their online provocations and face a direct confrontation.
The video rebukes Chapo’s operatives for escalating an online war contrary to their initial reluctance for such engagements, accusing them of abducting and killing innocents simply for displaying affiliations—marked by caps with the initials ‘MF’ for Mayito Flaco or sombreros linked to Maya Zambada.
This accusation stems from a recent grim discovery of ten individuals found deceased outside the Splash Club in Culiacán, as well as the alleged coercion in a video released by Chapo’s group where a young man denounces false claims against them.
The Mayito Flaco enterprise distances itself from such brutal tactics, highlighting its stance against extortion and theft, contrasting sharply with the alleged actions of Chapo’s group, including ransom demands and murders.
The call to arms for a face-to-face battle on the outskirts of Culiacán underscores a deep-seated vendetta and a refusal to involve innocent civilians in these cartel battles, marking a perilous escalation in their long-standing feud.
Here is the translated and transcribed audio from the call thanks to Sol.
This is our response for that video that the dirty Chapo operatives released yesterday. First off, Ivan you said that you didn’t want an online war. But it’s the first thing that you’re doing. Stop fucking around and come on out for that armed confrontation.
You already know where you can find us. We don’t abduct innocent civilians just to record them. Nor do we make up lies about the bosses in Culiacán the way you’re doing it. You’re out there abducting and killing innocent people who have a cap with the initials MF (Mayito Flaco) or because they’re sporting a sombrero (Maya Zambada) within their vehicles.
That’s exactly what happened with the 10 individuals who were left deceased in front of the Splash Club on the southern end of Culiacán. The same can be said about the young man who appeared in that video yesterday. You can clearly see that he was obligated to say things that weren’t true. Be a man about your business.
Come on out to fight like men on the outskirts of Culiacán. There’s been nothing but loss of life of innocent people here. This is the very reason why we didn’t back you guys up. Civilians aren’t responsible for the dumb shit that you did to Mayo Zambada.
You ungrateful fucks. How many times did he not cover up your fuckups and save your lives? The MF enterprise isn’t involved in thievery or extortions the way you guys are doing it in the ranches. You’re out there abducting their men and once you see that they’ve been reported as missing.
You turn around and ask for ransoms of fifty thousand pesos for their release. And if the ransom isn’t paid they’re killed off. We’re all here. So, come on out to fight us. This is what the Mayito Flaco enterprise wants you gang of fucking cowards to know.
