The Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) releases a video statement denying responsibility for the IED attack that killed 8 Mexican soldiers in Los Reyes, Michoacan. In addition, they also claim that R5 of Carteles Unidos was responsible for the attack.
Good afternoon, citizens of Michoacán. We are the Delta Group, armed wing of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, of Mr. Mencho, and Mr. Tres.
This message is to distance ourselves from the explosive mine attacks against members of Sedena in the community of Santuario, municipality of Los Reyes, Michoacán, on May 28, 2025, and from all the other attacks that have occurred involving explosives.
Enough of the twisting of the tables and the blame being placed on us every time soldiers are killed by explosive mines. We don’t operate like this; we don’t put farmers, civilians, children, or women at risk. We’re not substandard people.
It’s time you turned your eyes on those who have been doing all this for years. You know very well that those responsible for these attacks are the mob of R Cinco, Poncho de los Reyes, El Maniaco, and the whole gang of other groups that control that area under the instructions of El Abuelo Farías.
Sedena, you know very well that the area surrounding the communities of Gallineros, San Sebastián, Santa Inés, Santa Clara, Los Limones, Calabazas, and Tacácuaro, which belong to the municipalities of Los Reyes, Tocumbo, Tinguindín, and Cotija, is completely mined by cartels operating under the United Cartels to prevent the arrest of R-5, Poncho de los Reyes, El Maniaco, and all of Abuelo Farías’s people.
Sedena, you have personnel specialized in explosives. Work with military intelligence and begin identifying and deactivating those minefields, and avoid dying yourselves at the hands of these criminals.
Don’t allow General Enrique Covarrubias López, Undersecretary of National Defense, to use you as bait to protect his love interests with the daughter of the municipal president of Tepalcatepec, Marta Laura Mendoza, who is Abuelo Farías’s niece. He receives substantial profits after collecting fees from business owners, avocado growers, and lemon growers in the region.
Government, thoroughly investigate the directors of Cotija, Leobardo Báez Quiroz, and his brother, the director of public security of Tinguindín, Gilberto Báez Quiroz; the director of public security of Tocumbo, Juan Guaroco Martínez; and the director of public security of Los Reyes, Juan Sebastián Manso. Investigate the mayor of Los Reyes, Humberto Jiménez Solís.
He is the one who coordinates the security actions that provide protection to these criminals. The treasurer of Los Reyes, Jesús Trejo Gudiño, has commented that the president meets with these scumbags.Sedena and the National Guard, the war isn’t with you. But it is against these criminals who collect fees, kidnap, and kill innocent people.
We’re not criminals; we don’t work that way. Investigate our region. In our areas, we have never been attacked with explosive mines, and the high-impact crime rate is at zero. In our districts, there are no kidnappings, no fee collections, or murders of business owners.
We don’t extort, we don’t kidnap, and we don’t collect fees. On the contrary, our areas are protected, peaceful, and safe thanks to our work. We only want peace and tranquility for the citizens of Michoacán. Let us be clear, Mr. Mencho doesn’t seek peace only for one town in one region of Michoacán; Mr. Mencho seeks peace for the entire state of Michoacán, because Michoacán is his home.
Sincerely, members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel of Mr. Mencho and Mr. Tres.
