The wait is finally over.
My first book, The 50 Most Influential Mexican Narcos, is now available on Amazon.
This has truly been a labor of love. The original manuscript was more than 1,200 pages and read more like an encyclopedia. I ultimately cut it by about 75%. The biggest challenge was finding the balance between giving each profile enough depth to matter without turning every chapter into a full biography.
As a first-time author, I underestimated how much work goes into publishing. The last few weeks have been spent formatting separate editions for Kindle, paperback, and hardcover until they met my standards. It took longer than I expected, but I wanted to get it right.
The English audiobook and Spanish paperback are next.

I want to order but I already know the back stories of all 50 narcos, are there accounts of people hanging out with them?? People that worked for them, how they were as far as personality, did they party? Do drugs? Drink? etc. I want to hear some cool stories of actual witnesses close to them, we all know where they grew up and what they did and what level they were as far as the cartel structure.
This book is probably not for you then.
If you’re looking for stories about partying with narcos, I wrote a post back in November about meeting a local Jalisco boss and two of his enforcers at a nightclub. Sol has heard the unedited version, and it’s a wild story.
Since this is my first book, I wanted to write something that would appeal to a broader audience while establishing myself as an author. The good news is that two large book clubs have already reached out, and I have several podcast appearances scheduled beginning in August.
My plan is to write a memoir in the future about my experiences in the field. Believe me, there is a lot you don’t know about the people I’ve shared beers with in the mountains of Sinaloa and mezcal with in the jungles of Jalisco. Those stories will eventually be told.
But right now, I’m going to celebrate this project, get back to flying, and start preparing for another adventure at the end of August.
