Sinaloa has been affected by violence for several weeks now.

“Sinaloa has had 189 kidnappings in 25 days of war,” reported María Isabel Cruz Bernal, leader of the Sabuesos Guerreras group.

The group of protesters held a mobilization from the Cathedral to the offices of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), demanding justice for the deprivations of liberty.

The leader of the Sabuesos Guerreras collective explained that families in Sinaloa have lived locked up behind closed doors during the days of violence, due to the fear they feel that their children, brothers, uncles, nephews and grandchildren will be taken away.

“This is evidenced in the case of the disappearance of 189 people in just 25 days of war declared between criminal groups, for which families have stayed indoors for fear that our children, brothers, uncles, nephews and grandchildren will be taken away,” she commented.

María Isabel Cruz Bernal indicated that peace is not built only with will and even less so with criminal groups, but rather requires effective exercise, reparation of damage by the State and a constant exercise of recovery and construction of historical memory.

She pointed out that the lack of State mechanisms to address this crisis of disappearances has generated dehumanization, as well as serious violations of human rights, such as psychological violence.

5 “kidnappings”

The Attorney General’s Office of Sinaloa reported that 5 people were kidnapped this Wednesday, October 2.

“The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Forced Disappearance of Persons also reported that on October 2, five complaints were filed in the municipality of Culiacán for the crime of kidnapping they reported.

Today we accompanied the Sabuesos Guerreras Searchers’ collective of the Citizen Anticorruption Network, in the march for the disappeared held in Culiacán. This group has counted the forced disappearance of 185 people in 25 days, since September 9 of this year.
