No Evidence of Crematoriums at Izaguirre Ranch: FGR

Gertz Manero reminded that after the FGR’s raid, there is substantial progress in the investigations of the property indicated as a training camp.

The Izaguirre ranch, located in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, was used as a recruitment, operations, and training center for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, according to statements from those arrested, reported Attorney General Alejandro Gertz Manero.

At the morning press conference at the National Palace, the head of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) stated that no evidence of crematoriums was found on the property.

“We ordered a soil test on the stone and construction materials throughout the property to determine if there had been enough evidence for cremation, but we didn’t find any.

“For us, that’s not enough. We have asked the laboratories at the National University (Autonomous University of Mexico) to confirm or rectify this information, and that’s what I’m going to share with you,” he explained.

In front of President Claudia Sheinbaum, the prosecutor emphasized that, to date, 15 people have been arrested, linked to the property, located in the state of Jalisco.

“First, we have 15 people detained who were already charged with other crimes linked to organized crime. The head of that unit was arrested by the security cabinet here in Mexico City, and based on that information and information from two people… We were able to establish with complete precision that it was a recruitment, operations, and training center.” From the Treasury room, Gertz Manero emphasized that in 15 days—since the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office took possession of the ranch—there has been substantial progress in the investigation.
