Near the villages of La Guamuchilera, Alcoyonqui, Talayote, Los Vasitos, and La Flecha, Mexican Navy forces moved in, securing weapons, tactical equipment, and ammunition exclusively used by the military. Their patrols turned up crates of ammunition, high-caliber magazines, and military-grade gear, all stashed in a web of small, remote towns outside Culiacán.

This action forms part of “Safe Sinaloa,” an operation aimed at disrupting criminal activity across one of Mexico’s most notorious regions. Marine units combed these areas through a mix of ground and air patrols, deploying fixed-wing aircraft and mobile air units to survey the landscape, while Marine Infantry and Special Operations teams tackled the rural terrain on foot.

The Navy handed over all seized gear to law enforcement for investigation, but the message resonated beyond the confiscated weapons. “Through these actions, the Mexican Navy commits to protecting families and maintaining internal security,” the institution stated. The operation marks another attempt to counter criminal organizations entrenched in the region, where enforcing security remains an unrelenting challenge.
