Authorities found a camp in Rioverde that was used by organized crime. Nine graves have been located.
In the ‘extermination camp’ of Rioverde, SLP, bodies had been disintegrated and then abandoned in graves.
An organized crime camp was located in Rioverde, San Luis Potosí, where bodies were dissolved and then placed in clandestine graves.
The discovery was made on common land, in the community of Agua Dulce, near the limits with the municipality of San Ciro de Acosta, in the middle area of Potosina.
Bone remains identified in clandestine graves
The work of prospecting, inspection and collection of evidence has been carried out for days.
“This is going to take a long time because the situation is very complicated,” warned Professor Edith Pérez Rodríguez, president of the Voz y Dignidad por los Nuestros collective.
In the area, search groups and authorities identified bone remains, some buried in clandestine graves. Until now, the number of people to whom these would correspond is unknown.

Criminals dissolved bodies with acid
Various items of clothing have also been found. According to the conditions in which the bones were found, it is presumed that the bodies of the victims were dissolved in acid.
Edith Pérez Rodríguez, from the Voz y Dignidad por los Nuestros collective, explained how the place was used.
“They break down the body in acid, put it in the pit, this is a place used specifically to make people disappear using a chemical compound technique.

“They made an excavation of about a meter, (…) in other circumstances the findings have been very superficial, but on this occasion it has been complicated.”
“So far nine pits have been excavated, (…) it is observed that they burned the drum and threw the other clothes of the person there, (…) where they put the dismembered people. Then here we find the fragments with a type of calcined bone, because the calcium stands out.”
7 more graves need to be processed, says activist
Edith Pérez Rodríguez explained that seven more graves still need to be processed and estimates that the work will continue until next week.
“It seems that they are just implementing that technique (with acid), the way of making them disappear, the truth is I don’t like to speculate, but what we are seeing is quite different from what we have seen on other occasions,” added the activist.
The State Attorney General’s Office and the State Search Commission are participating in the proceedings, as well as elements of the National Guard and relatives of missing persons.
