Authorities in Mexicali arrested Isaac Neftaly “N,” alias “El Güero,” a suspected operative of the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), during an intelligence-led operation that uncovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition. Officials confirmed the detainee also has an active arrest warrant for kidnapping in the state of Jalisco.
The arrest was carried out by Baja California state security forces during patrol operations. According to authorities, officers detected suspicious behavior and attempted flight, prompting an intervention that led to his detention. A subsequent records check confirmed the outstanding kidnapping warrant.

During a search, authorities seized an extensive arsenal, including:
- 1 M4 Commando assault rifle (5.56 mm) with a loaded magazine
- Additional long guns and at least one handgun
- More than 2,000 rounds of 7.62×39 mm ammunition
- 119 rounds of .300 caliber ammunition
- Approximately 40 rifle magazines
- 1 grenade launcher attachment (40 mm)
- Ballistic armor plates
- Bandoliers, ammunition links, and tactical holsters
Officials said the quantity and type of weaponry indicate a high level of operational capability.
Authorities identified “El Güero” as part of a CJNG cell operating in northern Baja California, with reported links to the Chapitos-aligned alliance, which has been involved in ongoing territorial disputes in the region.
The operation involved coordination between state security forces, investigative police, and elements of the Mexican Army. Following his arrest, the suspect was transferred to federal authorities and placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office, which will proceed with federal weapons charges and coordinate extradition or transfer related to the kidnapping case in Jalisco.
Officials described the arrest as a significant blow to organized crime activity in Mexicali, citing the seizure of heavy weaponry and the removal of a suspected cartel operative from the area.
