In a recent development, the Mexican authorities have discovered 19 bodies in the municipality of La Concordia, Chiapas, after a disturbing video circulated on social media in which members of the Sinaloa Cartel claimed responsibility for the murders. The victims, including six individuals with identifications from Guatemala, were found in a dump truck and by the roadside.

According to initial investigations, this incident is a result of a conflict between the two rival criminal groups vying for control of the drug trade. The authorities have launched an investigation and deployed 1200 agents from the Secretariat of National Defense and the National Guard to reinforce security in the area.
