Just last week a group of enforcers from the Cartel del Noreste (CDN) appeared on film threatening Joaquín Arzate, aka El Chimuelo, and his mob.
The cyberbullying against their rivals mentioned the town of Montemorelos, among others. Today Montemorelos coincidentally experienced an armed attack that left several people dead and an overturned vehicle at the scene.
According to a police source, the events took place on Capitan Alonso de Leon Avenue and Las Adjuntas Avenue, in front of the Montemorelos traffic circle, around 2:50 a.m. this Friday morning.
The confrontation lasted approximately 10 to 15 minutes; large-caliber weapons and small arms were used. At this time authorities have yet to officially name the criminal group by name. However, if the CDN is to be believed, then it leaves them as the prime suspects for the shooting.
