‘Bola Treviño’, Leader Of The Cartel del Noroeste And Nephew of Z-40, Arrested In Tamaulipas

Carlos Alberto Monsiváis Treviño, alias Bola Treviño, was captured in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, in flagrante delicto by elements of the National Guard and the Mexican Army.

The detainee is considered the second most important man in the Cartel del Noroeste, a criminal organization that has a presence in Tamaulipas, Coahuila and Nuevo León.

According to the investigations, Bola Treviño was in charge of organizing kidnappings, extortions, drug and migrant trafficking. He is even accused of orchestrating armed attacks against members of the Army.

He is also accused of being the principal instigator of violence in Tamaulipas, particularly in the border area with the United States, a country to which he also sent illicit substances.

The detainee was transferred to Mexico City to face the charges against him before the competent authority, given the high degree of danger he poses.

Who are the family members of ‘La Bola’ Treviño?

Carlos Alberto Monsiváis Treviño, El Bola, comes from a line of drug lords. His uncles were members of the Los Zetas cartel.

He is the nephew of the brothers Miguel Ángel and Omar Treviño Morales, El Z-42 and Z-40 respectively, historical leaders of Los Zetas.

Omar Treviño was described as someone who “loved killing people” because he gave free rein to his sadism when taking the lives of his enemies.

For this reason, Z-40 was one of the bloodiest criminals in Mexico, he even implemented a type of botox that caused death and was not detected in autopsies.

For his part, his brother Z-42 assumed the leadership of the criminal organization after the capture of Miguel Ángel in 2013. His mandate was even more violent than the previous one.

This caused divisions within Los Zetas, until he was arrested two years later when he was on his way to his home in Nuevo León.
