Armored Truck And Two Vehicles Secured in Operation Against Criminal Groups in Tamaulipas

National Security Cabinet presented results of operations carried out in different states of the country

Federal authorities seized a truck with homemade armor, four magazines and 70 rounds, during an operation against criminal groups and generators of violence in the municipality of Miguel Alemán, Tamaulipas.

In a statement released this morning, the National Security Cabinet reported that in the municipality of San Fernando, Tamaulipas, actions against criminal groups were also intensified, where they managed to seize three long weapons, 35 magazines, 1,050 rounds, four tactical vests, four plate carriers, and two vehicles.

The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports the results obtained from the “Operation Northern Border” on February 21, 22 and 23, 2025.

Since the beginning of the operation on February 5, 746 people have been arrested and 705 firearms, 80,317 rounds of various calibers, 2,914 magazines, 11,861 kg of drugs, including 54.90 kg of fentanyl, 631 vehicles and 79 properties have been seized.

The actions are carried out in strict adherence to the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following stand out:

* Baja California

In Tijuana, four kidnapped victims were released, a handgun, two portable radios and a property were seized.

In Ensenada, two people were arrested and 50 doses of methamphetamine, 15 doses of cocaine and 12 marijuana cigarettes were seized.

* Chihuahua

Two people were arrested and 527 doses of methamphetamine, 20.635 kilograms of marijuana, three vehicles and one property were seized.

In Ciudad Juárez, two people were arrested and six long weapons, five handguns, 16 magazines and one vehicle were seized.

* Nuevo León

Three people were arrested and 13 rounds, various doses of drugs, nine vehicles and three properties were seized.

* Sinaloa

A plantation in an area of 500 square meters, with approximately 2,000 marijuana plants, was located and eradicated

Two clandestine laboratories used for the manufacture of synthetic drugs were located and detroyed, 3,900 liters and 405 kilograms of chemical substances used for the manufacture of drugs, 13 reactors, seven condensers, a cistern with a capacity of 10 thousand liters and various materials were seized.

In Culiacán, 464 cameras illegally installed in public spaces were located and removed.

* Sonora

In Altar, one person was arrested, a light machine gun, eight magazines, 340 rounds, 177 doses of cocaine, tactical equipment, a tear gas grenade and a vehicle were seized.

In Navojoa, two people were arrested, a Barret rifle, a long gun, two magazines, 39 rounds, four communication radios and a vehicle were seized.

In San Luis Río Colorado, 10 long guns, 55 magazines, rounds, 80 kilos of marijuana, two bags with illicit substances, three ballistic vests, four plate carriers, two vehicles and a property were seized.
